Cute little boutique and good selection of yarn but like others I had a rather colder customer service experience than I was anticipating. There were no other customers at the store except for a group of ladies working together. I started browsing and was not acknowledged until I was right next to the group. And when asked if I needed help and I said maybe, I'm not sure which yarn I'm looking for, there was just no response or follow-up from the store representative. I was keen to support a local store, but I'll have to keep looking for a new yarn supplier.

My daughter and I had a very positive experience at the Knitting Room. The lady running the store went out of her way to help us find some wool that would suit our project. She also was helping someone else who had a problem in their knitting project, so I feel confident to take in my projects for help too. It is lovely to have this resource in northwest Calgary. I only wish I could find their telephone number, as I often want to phone there. I am looking forward to when they can open with more regular hours. I would encourage people to go there to buy wool for their next project.

Visited looking for KnitPicks needle tips and found just what I needed for less than I found online in Ontario plus more sock yarn. Added to my stash! Helpful friendly staff. Limited hours but made sure before I went so I could find what I needed.

Went in to buy some yarn, there were 2 people sitting in the store talking to the lady working, the employee barely even gave me a glance when I walked in. I felt like I was ignored the entire time I was in the store. The employee continued talking to the other 2 people while I was checking out, and only spoke to me to tell the debit machine didn't have tap, and if I wanted a bag. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome, and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

I called from Ottawa, looking for a specific colour of a yarn. Success! They set it aside for me and I picked it up when we got to Calgary the next day. I got some good advice on knitting sweaters to gauge and was impressed enough with the inventory to go back for an extended visit when I had time later in my trip. In addition to all the usual suspects in wool, she has a great selection of cotton, cotton-blend, bamboo, and silk yarns. I'll definitely shop there again.

I went in yesterday to buy some yarn and new needles to start a couple new projects. The service was terrible, the woman barely spoke to me except to try and explain to me how the correct point i was making was wrong. She didn't speak to me otherwise and then I stood at the counter for at least 3-5 minutes and was not acknowledged. I had to just walk out. I will be going anywhere else but here to get any supplies that I need for future projects.

Yesterday I purchased a pkg of double pointed knitting needles and when i got to my sons house I realized I had purchased the wrong size Today I returned to the shop and told the woman that i wanted to get the next size up as I had made a mistake on the number. She stated that the store policy is that they don't exchange needles. I said that the pkg had not been opened and was factory sealed

The knitting room is my favorite place to hang out. I come here in all my spare time to get help from Helana on my knitting projects. She is patient and knowledgable and an amazing teacher. She has taught me almost everything I know. I would recommend the knitting room to anyone who does yarn craft!!!!!

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Helena, the owner, has always been extremely helpful when I have come in. She has spent a lot of time helping me pick out yarn for projects, suggesting yarn that suits my budget. There is a good selection of yarn, and I'm happy that there is a LYS in the Northwest with easy access and parking. This is my go-to yarn store.

I went to buy some yarn and saw not one, but 2 ladies sitting in the store with no masks on. They were not even social distancing. No way was I going in. I’ve turned my life upside down trying to follow COVID protocols and this store allows people to just casually sit in their store breaking the rules. Not going back, not even after the pandemic is over. (Yes it’s a pandemic and yes you need to take this seriously, in case you weren’t aware.) Furthermore, I’ve had pretty “cold” and unfriendly service there before.
