I normally don’t write negative reviews. However in this case I feel compelled to hopefully save someone from hiring this company and having to go through the absolute nightmare that is Paul Davis (Kitchener)DO NOT USE this company. If I could give a ZERO rating I would.We had a simple kitchen restoration after our dishwasher had leaked. It took them 6 months to schedule the work at our house. They allotted 2 weeks for the job. Here we are 3 months later the work is still not done.The new floor that was put down is un even and makes crackling sounds when walked on. The floor was not prepped or cleaned properly prior to the new tiles being installed.The kitchen counters were installed at different heights. Not level at all or even with each other. They broke part of our kitchen island and severely damaged our kitchen table when moving it in and out of our home during the restoration. They Stained our newly painted walls and did not even re attach all the trim around our kitchen. They literally tried to cut corners at every turn and when we asked about any/all of this we were met with aggression and threats of job extension (adding months to the timeline) and adding additional cost. !!!Wow!!!To top it all off they ended up walking away from our job before the work was complete.That’s right, they didn’t finish and left us in the lurch.They didn’t even have the courtesy to speak to us directly they just never came back. We had to find out from our insurance company that they no longer wanted the job. Now we are left to find another company to redo all the mistakes and substandard half finished work they did.It’s worth noting that during the months when they were supposedly working on our job Paul Davis Kitchener repeatedly left us in the dark with no communication. We had no idea if workers would show up or when and many days they didn’t show up at all.Unreal in all my years in business if I treated my customers this way I’d be unemployed.Do yourself a favor USE ANOTHER COMPANY or risk ending up like us with substandard unfinished work, damaged property and months of your time wasted.

We had a pipe burst in the basement this past fall and PaulDavis came in within a couple of days and removed all the wet drywall, flooring and insulation to allow to dry. Then they came back and installed everything back just like it was. No hassle!The staff was respectful and quick to answer any questions I had.The end result was great! I will recommend them to friends and family.

Our insurance company sent them after we had a flood in our basement. We used them for the restoration process as well. The work was well done and in a timely manner. They were professional and went above expectations to ensure we were satisfied. I highly recommend them.

The Paul Davis team promptly responded and moved expeditiously with a high degree of professionalism to remove the damaged building materials from our home, facilitating the recovery process. Paul Davis also collaborated effectively with our kitchen cabinet maker to assess our cabinets' damage and establish a rebuilding plan.

Never in my entire life have I dealt with a more reprehensible outfit. A small plumbing flood caused a large problem for my 83 year old mother living alone. Her walls were soaked, the carpet and underlay wet and moulding. Paul Davis Kitchener made an initial visit with fans to dry the area and removed the soaked drywall.They then insisted I pay them $3000 up front just to schedule the final repair, which would be months away. We dutifully paid, and waited patiently for the start date, which came and went without so much as a phone call or email letting us know they were behind schedule.My first call inquiring what was happening went unreturned. I called again a week or so later and was put thru to Brett, who had “taken over” our file. I put taken over in quotations as he didn’t do anything with our file besides look at it on his desk. Brett stated he was shocked certain aspects of our job had not progressed, as he was told. He disparaged the previous manager on our file and assured me he’d be in touch the following day to schedule the work, (that we paid for 10 weeks ago) but stated it wouldn’t be until after the holidays as they were too busy to start before. I brought up compensation for our additional wait but that was brushed off by Brett.Surprise, no call from Brett the next day to schedule the work. Or the next.I then wrote an email to the owner of the company, Glen Wilkinson, and itemized our situation and poor service we are receiving, and I requested he call me to discuss a path forward.The next thing I heard from them was an email from the company accountant asking how she could return the $3000 we paid 10 weeks prior, as I requested. I called this person immediately and clarified I had not requested these funds to be returned, but had instead wanted the work completed asap as promised. She stated she would look into it. The general manager, Glen, then replied to my previous email stating he agreed they made mistakes but they were dropping the job. A follow up call to Glen, explaining that an 83 year old lady lived here alone, and had lived with this mess for almost 3 months at this point, did nothing to change his mind. He was simply waking away from a job they started, and left in a mess, because he didn’t like being called out for their poor service. I begged him to reconsider and to help my mother as the insurance company had told me there were no other companies to take over, meaning they were just going to cut a cheque and leave her on her own. He didn’t care. They then also refused to add interest to the $3000 they owed me, so we’ll be going thru the BBB to recover that, as it’s legally owed.We eventually got Burke Restoration to finish and I can’t say enough great things for them. They did everything well that Paul Davis only promised to do.My advise to anyone looking for restoration work would be to try anyone besides Paul Davis Kitchener.*I need to add something to my review after reading Glens response. He seems to imply I was hostile or abusive, or projected negativity to his staff. (All same last name) The tone would be probably better described as pleading, begging, with some bewilderment sprinkled in. Let me paint the picture here, I live thousands of miles away, I’ve been hearing about the smell and mess for months, and now finally talking to someone in charge was being told it was going to be months longer and wouldn’t be ready for the holiday season, changing and upsetting many plans. I was well aware these folks were busy, as we had already waited months at this point, but after missed appointments and unreturned calls and zero email communication I definitely had questions of Brett, and most assuredly used a tone reserved for this exact situation. When we spoke, Glen, you’ll recall I asked specifically if I had said anything rude or inappropriate and you agreed I hadn’t, but yet you imply here that I did. If I had said anything abusive or hostile I would expect you to not complete the work, justifiably. There is no justification for how you treated this lady.

Brutal do no use. Unorganized and didn't perform the work they said they invoiced me for.When I refused to pay the bill they put a lean on the house. I had to higher a lawyer. They claimed they painted my basement had 4 nearly full cans of paint left over in a 1800 sq foot basement. Took 7 months to get the major part of the project done. Don't waste your money getting into a contract with these guys. I believe the owner is being baffled by his lieing managers.STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!!

This company is so easy to deal with,the crew are very respectful and do good work!.The project manager Brett Wilkinson is a very easy going person easy to talk to on any issue and makes sure everything is taken care of to your satisfaction.We would not hesitate to use this company again and will gladly tell our family and friends about them. The Paul Davis team was phenomenal! After a sump pump failure and subsequent flooded basement Brian and his crew arrived swiftly, assessed the damage and got to work. Brain provided great advice and his his crew delivered quality workmanship and everyone was very amiable and approachable. In the end the refurbished basement including new vinyl floors, painted walls and carpeted steps (albeit under undesirable circumstances) was the renovation I didn't know I needed/wanted!

Great company, VERY positive experience!!!Paul Davis was referred to us by our insurance provider when our fence blew down during a recent wind storm. The Project Manager Brian came in to assess the damage within a day of contacting insurance. I had never gone through the home insurance process before, but I was stunned on how quick Paul Davis showed up.We now have a beautiful new fence because of these guys. I should mention it was installed in below 0 degree temperature outside, while snowing.Paul Davis is a big, well known company, and there is no surprise as to why insurance companies utilize them to assess house damage. They are professional, courteous, and altogether great to deal with.5 stars. You can trust these guys to get the job done right.

We are still working with them at present, and to date they have been great! Very professional, friendly and Brett's help and guidance has been most helpful in guiding us seniors through this process. Very much appreciated! thank you! :-)
