Mission Ridge Animal Hospital

We recently moved to St. Albert and I took a lot of time and consideration into finding the perfect vet for my dog. She suffers some pretty severe anxiety and can't handle a lot of new people, other pets or new places. All of the staff at mission ridge were very patient with her and understanding. They did everything they could to help her feel safe and comfortable. She definitely had her best vet experience yet!

I had my previous dog with the vets at Mission Ridge. They are the best and that is why I have my current dog with them. I will have any future pets with them as well.

My cat and dog have been going to Mission Ridge Animal Hospital for 5 years now. Since they are signed up for the optimum care plan, the staff know them very well, and give them stellar care! All the vets are competent, professional, and principled, and all the support staff are friendly, respectful, and go out of their way to be genuinely helpful. My animals have mostly seen Dr. Katherine Takacs, who has been fantastic with both animals! After my dog ate something noxious, Dr. Takacs saw her immediately when I called, and saved her from what appeared to be certain death – she fully recovered; Dr. Takacs also problem-solved the pain my senior cat exhibited through her constant yowling – she is now content and happy and ... quiet. I have been, and am, extremely happy with the advice and services that Mission Ridge Animal Hospital provides, and highly recommend them.

Absolutely love Dr. Lori and her team! Have had pleasant experiences with the other vets as well when we needed in quick.Our dog Bentley adores Dr Lori… you know she’s pretty special when your dog is excited to see the Dr and offers kisses. I have been going to Mission Ridge for 16 years. Staff are always so friendly and show a genuine care and concern for the health of my pup. They are also very thorough with their exams and checkups.

First impressions surpassed expectations! Dr. Lori was awesome. Front staff welcoming, accommodating, and attentive. A three legged cat was perfectly poised in the reception area with a gentle calmness that seemed to bring healing energy for the nervous few critters including our own Hazel. Very impressive facility and especially notable was the very quiet atmosphere …. No noise or cries of pain from other animals to terrify the animals waiting for attention. A wonderful asset. So glad we chose Dr. Lori and staff to care for our yorkie.

We adopted our first family pet, a kitty and needed to find a vet. When I called to book the appointment the lady I spoke to was very polite, helpful and informative. She got us into an appointment for time and day that worked best for us! When I arrived at the clinic for our appointment the staff was welcoming and checked us in quickly, our appointment started on time. We saw Dr. Lori Skrypnek and she was wonderful! She was so sweet with our kitty and my son. She took the time to answer all our questions and give us advice on best practice for a health happy cat! I really appreciated the time she took to explain everything to us and even showed us how to cut our kitty's claws. I have been taking my dog to Dr. Woods for many years. She has always been very attentive and thorough when determining the best medical care for Sammie. Now that my dog is a senior I’m so happy I have a caring and knowledgeable veterinarian.

Brought my 11 year old dog (Morkie) for a follow up appointment to get her blood and electrolytes checked. 3 days prior she went into emergency for severe electrolyte imbalance and ataxia. My family has been very worried as to what caused this and we are turning to our usual vet mission hill hospital. although her initial symptoms are gone I voiced that her behaviour has been different and she is still showing signs of weakness especially in her back legs. However my worries were brushed off because “she looks great”. I find that very hard to accept when they put no effort into a thorough examination (only checked her temperature) which still costs $71. For what?? The effort of care does not match the price.

I can not say enough about the staff here. They give you options but don’t ever push anything on you for testing and additional costs. They treat my dogs like their own. When we were forced to make a tough decision with our senior dog, they let us take our time and really think about it. The kindness they showed me and our precious pup was so wonderful and needed in that tough moment.
