nicer quality than other secondhand stores but also less to choose from, so it's a lil harder to find your size too. sadly have yet to purchase anything yet from my previous 2-3 trips here.** after reading some other reviews (mostly of sellers') of the plato's picky standards on what they accept, i feel like even if it's not as in-style anymore, it'd still be a nice find as long as its in a good condition. ie. some desirable pieces in stores that were too expensive to buy back then would be a treasure to find for a lot cheaper while thrifting.

*This review is strictly in regards to their style guidelines*I shop or sell at this store a few times a month. The service and sorting speed is always good. However today I brought in a bag of freshly laundered and neatly folded clothing, all of which was purchased at Plato’s within the last year. They sadly didn’t even unfold half of my items to take a proper look. They don’t buy skinny jeans or full length Tshirts anymore, it’s all wide leg and crop tops. There is an entire generation of 20-something women who still wear skinny’s and want the bottom half of the shirt. The store is 90% wide leg pants and crop tops, with very little style options for anybody who doesn’t wear that style. Everything they pass on gets purchased by the Cambridge location though.

Really nice place. Chill vibe, everything was in good condition. The staff seemed a bit tired but still sociable. The selection was decent but not very wide and will not suit all peoples needs. However that's to be expected.

This place is always very hit or miss for selling your pre-loved items. It completely depends on who’s working on the day you take your things in. I’ve brought in perfect condition Levi’s, Aritzia, Calvin Klein, etc. and have had them turned down but then on a different day they’ll accept a $15 H&M crop top I’ve worn for years. No rhyme or reason but sometimes you get lucky. As for the selection, it is also hit or miss. Considering how picky they are you’d think the items they sell would be more on-trend but it feels very… 2104-2016. I have way more luck shopping at Goodwill or Value Village when it comes to finding cool, unique, high-quality items at a decent price. I would go in more often if it was in a better location but it’s really out of the way.

I have been here multiple times. The last 3 times I visited the store I brought 3 bags, plus of clothing. The last time I came I have 3 bag and was told it would take 20 minutes to go through. It took about 10 mins and I was told my stuff was too spotty.3 of the items that I brought I had taken the tags off just before entering the store. Those 3 items were part of the many given back to me for “spotting and too much wear”.If you are going to offer to resell people’s things take the time and actually look at the value and don’t just go through the items quickly just because you do not want to do your job.Super disappointed with the effort put into doing your job

The staff was very nice and friendly I brought in some clothes , a coach bag and pair boots in mint condition. They turned down mostly all it wasn't worth my time at all and felt very insulted when they offered me $10 for my mint condition boots worn only a few times in original box price tag still on so I took them back rather use them as yard boots or sell myself then. I was just hoping for better deals at least $20 would have been on with and they could still sure sell for double easy I'm sure but $10 seriously so they can sell 3 or 4x what offered me no thanks. I just wasn't that desperate I ended up finding a cute top I bought there anyway used what I got for a few men's clothing I didn't care about LoL

Took in a basket of clothes and they took absolutely nothing this location is the absolute worst in the region. Rude staff as well. They have styles like joe fresh on the racks but won’t take my university of Waterloo sweater or almost brand new American eagle jeans. This place is absolutely pathetic. Save your time and go to the gueplh or Cambridge location they are way better.

Super quick & easy process for dropping off your items! An easy $25 for a handful of items - they’re fair with their processes. They took my newer, perfect condition items, and passed on the more used items.I think the lower reviews don’t understand that it’s difficult to sell heavily used items that aren’t in style. I was happy with my experience. Will be back with more!

Great second hand clothing store. Always love that everything is organized by colour. Super impressed by their online shopping through instagram. Always a favourite place of mine, lots of stock for all styles and large changing rooms.
