The GOOD Chocolatier
I surprised my boyfriend with Mara's chocolate making class and it did not disappoint!! Mara was extremely knowledgeable about the history and processes of chocolate making. She had us try different cocoa beans and a variety of her pre-made chocolates, while explaining the complexities and nuances of flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel of each. We had an amazing time interacting with others in the class, as we created our own chocolate bar combinations! This is a fantastic and worthwhile experience for anyone who is a local or just visiting for a short weekend (like we were doing). We would highly recommend this class to anyone who loves to try something new, loves meeting new people, and who love chocolate!

I hope Good Chocolatier set up a pop up in Tri-Cities area one day. If anyone wants to purchase a bundle, it's a good idea to order online in advance to get it delivered to your doors.

Our work group recently had a fantastic time learning and making chocolate with The Good Chocolatier. Mara provided us with excellent instruction and information to make it an educational, fun, and tasty experience. Each of us came away with a newfound appreciation for time and care that goes into making quality, ethical, fair trade chocolate. Highly recommend!

Amazing chocolates, along with excellent customer service.I'm in Finland and wanted to send my girlfriend Valentine's chocolates. Mara's thoughtful emails helped me a lot in choosing my gift, and the delivery schedule was also flexible. Plus, her handwriting is beautiful. :)The chocolates were exquisite in both looks and taste (my girlfriend's review). I would love to pay this chocolatier a visit the next chance I'm in Vancouver; so excited about the chocolate workshop!

Some opportunities for the workshop:- There are 2 stations for toppings but only 1 station to get the chocolate. People had to line up to get the chocolate twice (once for white and once for dark). Could've cut the wait time in half if there are 2 lines instead so some people can start with white truffles while some start with dark.- Not enough gloves. If you expect people to use 2 sets of gloves so they don't mix the white and dark truffles, be sure to have enough gloves for all participants.- Peanut topping might not be a safe choice in case there are people with peanut allergies. Even the spoons might carry traces of peanut to other toppings as people scoop from different toppings.Otherwise, it was a fun and we learned something about cocoa in the workshop.

Attended the chocolate making workshop. Mara was informative, passionate and engaging. There were many samples to try and really explore how cacao beans originate and what flavours they are capable of. The chance to create our own chocolate creations was fun and we very much enjoyed it. I recommend this workshop and it fully met my expectations.

Workshop is led by a passionate young entrepreneur. It is well organized with a section about education about chocolate. We tried different types of beans, nibs, as well as different chocolate types. Mara is passionate and wants to share her knowledge so we can all understand the benefits of chocolate, support the farmers (Fair trade) and take care of our health (as little processed ingredients as possible). The second part of the workshop is hands on with pouring and decorating chocolate bars. Time to learn how to temper chocolate.

My boyfriend and I recently attended the chocolate workshop hosted by Mara. We both have a deep looooove for chocolate, so it was a fantastic opportunity for us to delve into the world of healthy chocolate!Mara's passion for chocolates and her commitment to making a positive impact are truly infectious. Not only is she a master of her craft, but she is also a very friendly and welcoming person, which matters a great deal in today's world. Throughout the workshop, Mara guided us through the history of cacao, shared the crafting process, tested our ability to identify flavours and then invited to make our own chocolates.I appreciate Mara's dedication to source not only the best cacao beans but also her support for local farmers and the community. I am looking forward to visiting her shop to try cacao drinks and chocolates! Thank you, Mara, for sharing your passion and expertise with us.

I had come to Mara with a big ask - a corporate order of chocolate bundles at the end of November for a staff base of around 40 people and she and her team not only graciously were able to help us, but found incredibly creative solutions and were able to get all our gift bundles out in time. Working with her was such a treat, flexible, professional and easy! Staff really loved the quality of the chocolate bundles and delivery. I am so grateful for all the assistance and how seemless they had made the experience!
