Para Transpo

Para Transpo thank you for nothing!!!!!This company needs to get better. At least two times or more I had a really bad experience with para transpo. First they are late to every booking that I do with para, second of all sometimes when they pick me up but they don’t always comeback to get me how do you guys expect me to get wherever I need to go????? I feel that this company needs to do something about this. It’s not fair to have no proper transportation. How do you guys expect me to get to appointments on time or get there. I am a young woman that has a disability and wants to go out and live my life, but how will I do that if Para is not reliable? Para you have to get better.

The service is going backwards again! Taxi drivers are constantly on the phone and are often disrespectful towards me. Even laugh in my face when I tried to explain I was afraid that the extra bench in the back of the taxi was not secure enough and would almost hit my arm every time he would turn. I even told him that I have a severe bone deceased and that’s when he started to say: “ Are you going to report me? “ I tried to make him understand that if that he didn’t secure it that it will injure someone. He didn’t care less!

My son has enough issues without the very stressful para taxi.1/2 late & trying to put 4 people, 1 wonderful lab dog, along with wheel chairs & walkers.This is how the city of Ottawa wants our handicapped treated. I am ashamed.

The process needed to get an accessible bus is crazy you need a ride to apply for the bus service on top of it the wait time and the running around is ridiculous..... customer service was good but you could tell that he did not have all thw Information he needed to do his job adequately

This is an absolutely FABULOUS SERVICE and without it most of us would not be able to get around and go anywhere we want... It actually sickens me that ANYONE would have a complaint against Para Transpo!! Some people aren't happy unless they're complaining about someone or something,I guess misery loves company!! Tell me, why are you so entitled??This service should be APPRECIATED for what it provides for disabled people, the FREEDOM to be taken wherever we want, whenever we want, instead of being stuck in our homes with places to go but no way to get there. You don't like the service, the answer is simple, DON'T USE IT!!One last note, in regards to the phone, if there is no one available, there is an option to get a call back, which is great as you don't have to stay on the line waiting for someone to pick up, and someone always calls you back.Some people...

Para Transpo is a shared-ride, book-in-advance, public transit service. The service is open to eligible customers who are unable to take conventional transit (buses and O-Train) some or all of the time due to a disability. It is funded by the City of Ottawa and administered by OC Transpo.

I find some of the para taxi vans are filthy the seats full of crape no screen between you and driverAs well as the odour in some of them are terribleWhy are they not inspected more some a not very pleasant with youThey should not be on the the road some of the vehiclesI drove Buses and streets cars in my day with Octranspo we never drove vehicles like some of the vans that’s on the road picking us up our buses were cleaned every night after our shiftI hope some one takes notice of this it needs to be looked into before someone one gets sick

Horribly disgraceful. These drivers should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for the way they treat these people with disabilities. They don't deserve these jobs. I watch my neighbour with cerebral palsy struggle with these drivers who simply do not care. They purposefully park 50-100 feet away and make him walk through snow and ice to them instead of driving up to the designated post like they are supposed to. He's told by customer service to wait inside where it's warm, the drivers should walk up and knock on his door. They don't. They just drive away. So he is forced to stand in the cold for over an hour most times. I'm so embarrassed to call this city our nation's capital. Sadly, it is to be expected to receive this level of treatment from any city service, but this cannot be considered acceptable when dealing with people with disabilities. Many people have called to complain and, surprise surprise, nothing is happening. The level of standard for recruitment has not changed, how they train their drivers has not changed. Nothing has changed. The people in charge of Para Transpo should be ashamed of themselves. I don't know how they sleep at night. I guess changing things may in turn make them look bad to their superiors, so changing anything is not in their best interests. Silencing negative reviews is. Welcome to Ottawa.
