Had dinner with my 2 young kids. They were hungry so had some cucumber sticks we brought. Waitress told us that there was no outside food. When I tried to explain they just need something to ride them over, she just walked away. So rude.

A great representation of authentic Japanese dining experience. The attention to detail and the delicate, subtle touches the chef puts into his work makes it a great dining experience.However it might not be for those who are looking for something filling and heavy, for the essence of this restaurant focuses more on enjoying the taste. (Hence more similar to a fine dining experience)

We wanted a good Japanese lunch before heading to the airport and found Nakamura purely by walking by. Lucky we did. Authentic Japanese cuisine served by the nicest family. Best Japanese food I have had since being in Japan. The una don was unreal and don’t be scared to try the bbq salmon collar!

Mini Kaiseki (lunch set) tastes pretty good overall, but the Tuna sashimi were NOT FRESH, we were not feeling well the next day:(

This is not a child friendly place as I do understand some restaurants having the rule of no outside food. However I don’t understand why they would ban a sippy cup and fruit, as they aren’t a meal, and they don’t even sell fruit. Lastly, their lunch bento is small portions and the vegetable tempura was undercooked.

One of the best places to get an authentic Japanese meal in Vancouver. The owners are very nice and the food is spectacular; fresh, clean, tasty, and also very filling! Great ambience in the restaurant too.
