Slam Bang Fishing Lodge
We went for our 10th anniversary and felt like royalty. Scott and Jennifer both treated us wonderfully. Jennifer's cooking is absolutely delicious and she packs amazing lunches for all the boats/guides. Scott goes out of his way to show you all the beauty his place has to offer. The rooms are spacious and clean. The views are unbeatable. The guides know their stuff and share knowledge with each other making everyone's day a success. Brody (Scott and Jennifer's son) is very talented at filleting. One of the most amazing meat cutters I've ever watched. I would HIGHLY recommend going and have every intention of going again myself.Thank YOU Scott, Jennifer and Brody.

Just got home been to a lot of lodges this lodge is number one . Jen and Scott and their son are wonderful hosts and Jen is the best cook. Jason our guide no doubt the best ever. Our group of 4 came home with over 500 lbs. of filleted salmon, halibut, ling cod and rock fish all caught in 3 days. 5 star Resort.

Scott and Jen,Thank you for your gracious hospitality during our stay at Slam Bang Lodge, we had a great two days of fishing with our guide Jim, who like you did everything he could ensure we had the best experience possible. From the time we arrive to time we left you both made us feel like part of the family with the communial meals (which were great) to the relax atmosphere of Lodge just sitting around at the end of the day. The local wild life and scenery of the area only adds to the beauty of your place, thank you again, we had a great time and we will be back.Mike

The absolute amazing experience we've had at Slam Bang Lodge summer 2022 has set such a high bar for any future fishing outings. (Was lucky to enjoy with 3 adult sons)Scott and Jenn are such great hosts, Jenn's cooking (including option to use part of your catch) was 5 star delicious.Mike and Glenn as experienced and location knowledgeable guides are outstanding, including so graciously & freely sharing the same, teaching tips, and tricks.Having your fish expertly processed, vacuum packed and flash frozen right onsite is just adding to the overall excellence provided.Superlative location and such a variety of fish available nearshore, further out" and in between

What a blast! Scott and Jenn really do make you feel right at home. And of all the people I have jigged squid with until 2:00am, had the best time with Brody. And yes, the man can process fish. And boy, our guide Brian put us on some beautiful salmon. And taught us to fish the west coast way. May every time you hear the song Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald, you crack a smile, eat a banana and think of your ol’ buddy Ryan. Sorry about the rod Brian, thanks for the memories!

From a former employee. I have worked at several lodges since 1991. I have guided from the Haida Gwaii to Campbell River and for more than a decade on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Out of all of the lodges I have worked at I would recommend Slam Bang Lodge as the best. The lodge is located close to an amazing fishery but that is not why I am writing a review. The reason this lodge is the best kept secret on the west coast is because of the family that operates it and the staff that remain loyal to it. They are beyond wonderful people and it was a privilege for me to work for them and with them.Jen, the mom and wife and heart of the lodge is the best home cook and baker I have ever met.Scott, the husband and father is the sparkplug of the operation and makes sure that everything is running smoothly. Like Jen, he is an authentic host and obviously loves what he does.Brody, the son, operates the fish processing plant and is the best fish cutter I have ever seen. He cares and makes sure that the guests fish is taken care of to the highest standards. My time here was cherished. It was a great break from the bigger, more expensive lodges that I usually work for.As a guest here you will truly feel like it is your lodge to enjoy. You will feel like a part of the great family that operates Slam Bang Lodge.

Shocked….Our travelling companions called Scott today to book our 6th consecutive fishing trip .When our friends called Scott, he conveyed that they were welcome but we were not. Why?“ because other guests did not like us “.None of us could believe this comment as from our perspective we all got along well with each and every guest these past five years .Prior to Scott and Jen’s ownership we were pioneers supporting Slam Bang Lodge and the previous owners as far back as thirty years.Sentimental attachments are strong !!We feel this is a very bad business decision.SincerelyChristina MacdonaldAndChuck Webb

What a treat! The owner's of this lodge treat you more like a guest at their house then as a paying client. For people who like travelling at bed and breakfast places instead of a hotel, this is the perfect vacation spot... it just happens to include 5 star fishing at your doorstep. Final comment; your catch will be processed by the best fish cutter in Western Canada. I have fished at many of the top fishing lodges in BC (Haida Gwaii specifically) and sent my fish to numerous fish processors... Jen and Scott (owners) have figured out how to keep their son working with them and his skills are un-matched. Your salmon cuts will be perfect, but it's his skills with ling cod and halibut that are truly superb. When you get your catch home and you thaw out your white fish you will be preparing a 5 star restaurant filet. Imagine never having to cut off the skin or tweezer out a bone! To the Porters, thanks for a great trip (my kids are still telling their friends about where they went). The three salmon in the pics were all caught by their holders in 3 hours on our last day (23, 21 and 18 lbs springs).

We were cruising in our boat on Kyuquot Sound, mainly sightseeing, but had to try a little fishing. When we caught a couple lingcod and a salmon, we needed somebody to process and freeze our catch. SRP Processing is right at Slam Bang Lodge and did a good job, keeping our fish in their deep freeze for a week while we continued cruising. We returned several times with more fish. Lucky for us, they even had an opening for one night's lodging, so we got dinner, showers, breakfast and a sack lunch for the next day. Friendly and helpful.

My wife and I spent 4 days at Slam Bang for our 10th wedding anniversary. Of all the fishing resorts I've been to this is the one I'm going back to....like as soon as possible. This place is family owner and operated and it shows in the best of ways. The atmosphere and personalities there made our stay unforgettable. There's no comparison to the fishing on the North West coast of the island. All the fish are just simply bigger and there's more of them. If I told you how much fish we took home you wouldn't believe me. They also have a high end processing plant on site run by the fastest and nicest meat cutter I've ever seen. I heard this resort was known for its food. The rumor was true. Every meal was jaw dropping. I really could go on and on as I'm still riding the high of the best trip I've ever taken.Regards
