Arva's Little School House

Little Red School House is an excellent centre for child Care and development.

My 3 1/2 year old has been with Monica for the past 2 1/2years. Prior to Covid I had checked out her daycare and at that time all the children were happy. Fast forward to now and I’m sad that this is my daughters last year. She has made such wonderful friends, I love being able to watch from the windows and being able to see the kids play and when they are outside as well. I couldn’t have asked for better care and it’s like a second home for my daughter. Monica and staff are fantastic.

In the short time I was employed at Arva’s Little School House, I was witness to terrible etiquette and dishonest treatment towards children and their parents’, alike. Though the daycare is not advertised or presented as a Christian facility, Monica does not shy away from her religious convictions and shares her faith with her employees and the children in a graceless fashion.Monica is judgmental, racist, and passive aggressive towards staff members who live different lifestyles from herself (atheist, biracial partnerships, pregnancy outside of marriage, etc.).Towards the children, her incompetence to be an early childhood educator is more direct.Children are scolded for holding spoons or crayons with their “improper” (their left) hand. Children are disciplined when asking for water “when it’s not hot outside”. Children are berated into eating faster and - in cases I have witnessed - are physically force-fed to the point of vomiting (and then are scolded for vomiting into their food and forbidden dessert).Although I could go on, I will simply end by imploring families to reconsider before entrusting their children to Monica. This is what really happens behind closed doors.

Wonderful daycare. Our daughter loves going there

My son and daughter started attending Arva’s Little School House in November of 2021. My son graduated in August 2022 and my daughter still attends. I cannot say enough great things about Monica and her staff. Monica is strict in the very best way, yet kind and caring, teaching manners, respect and the best behaviour. My children love and respect her and all the other staff. My son still asks to visit Monica!! At our parent teacher interview with my sons JK teacher we were told our son is ahead of others in his class (writing and word recognition etc) and that he is a kind, polite, respectful and conscientious student - we have Monica to thank for that. We love Arva’s Little School House and Monica, and we highly recommend this facility.

Our 2 kids have looked after by Monica and her team for the last 4 years and we couldn't be happier with her and the rest of the staff. The kids learn many different things throughout their day and come home with a new craft almost every day.We will miss Monica come this fall when our kids will both be off to school this fall.

All three of our children have gone to Arva’s Little Schoolhouse for years and I couldn’t thank Monica and her staff enough. They are absolutely incredible - professional, genuine, loving and MOST importantly they treat the children as if they were their own. They want what is best for the kids. Thank you Monica and staff for everything you do.

My Daughter spent a year with Monica and her staff and it was fantastic. My daughter, now nine, still talks about her time there. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

My daughter has been at Arva's Little Schoolhouse for the last 3 months. When we interviewed with Monica she was very open and upfront about how she ran her daycare. When we arrived, long after the facility had closed, a little girl had yet to be picked up by her parents. Monica, was very attentive to her and made sure she comforted her the whole time, letting her know her dad was on his way. We had a great interview and felt very secure in leaving our daughter in Monica's care.We recently have had attachment issues where my daughter will not let me go, even into my husband's or family member's arms. This is never a problem at daycare and my daughter often runs right in without looking back; she is so excited to be there.When we pick her up the caretakers always have funny/goofy stories to tell us about her day and always answer any questions I have about her eating or sleeping habits.Monica is very cautious with illnesses and COVID through her sanitizing routines which I appreciate entirely.I want to thank Monica's team for accepting our daughter with open arms and loving her as much as we love her.
