Comfort Inn Guelph

Comfortable bed. Good shower. Clean. Friendly staff. The only annoying thing was the noisy refrigerator in the room, which I had to unplug it from the outlet.

Stayed there for 2 nights and had the most horrible experience. First, half of the hotel was under construction and there had been nothing on the website informing us of this. Then, the rooms smelled like cigarettes, the linen was dirty when we asked to change rooms, the front desk girl refused and stated if we weren’t happy we should change hotels. We asked to speak to the manager however the front desk refused. There is absolutely no customer service and this was the most horrible experience of my life. I will never stay in this hotel again.

some old lady sitting at the front was extremely rude to me because i left through the patio door and was telling me people are going to go in (in the 2mins it takes me to check out, and get my cash deposit back) that someones gunna go in and steal the TV, she even took time to fight with me back and forth about why im NOT ALLOWED to leave through the patio, wont be staying here again as the staff was rude and aggressive. Then following my check out, they tried to charge me 50$ of my 200$ deposit because there was a face cloth missing. Then didnt return my drivers license to me, when we returned to get my license the SAME lady at the front desk says “i dont work here” , and contiuned to bicker with us instead of just returning MY IDENTIFICATION. They are rude, aggressive, unprofessional, DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. the room was disgusting and dirty, the carpet was SOAKING wet and dirty.

I’m it even done my stay and felt I had to leave a review. I had to reschedule my stay very last min and they were friendly and accommodating, they did not charge me a fee for changing my booking the very day I was supposed to sign in. The hotel is a comfort Inn like all the others, the room is fine, it’s clean the pillows are soft the bath is big enough to soak in for the most part. The rooms have a fridge and microwave (more than I can say from a lot of places) the wifi is free as is the coffee and tea. All this is 3 star stuff, it’s expected, the reason I gave 5 stars is the customer service. The lady at the desk (same one who helped me on the phone when I rescheduled I think) was in a word delightful. You can tell when someone really wants to help, not just because it’s their job to. Next time I have to come to Guelph this will be where I stay.

We stayed overnight and were disgusted to find a cockroach in our room. On check out we brought this to the attention of Karol who was working the front desk to which he responded “good times” followed by a brief apology. No gesture of goodwill or reimbursement for our stay was offered. I don’t often make a fuss but this is concerning and felt obligated to leave a review.
