Columbia Bottle Depots

Very clean bottle depot. They are continuously tidying and ensure that the booth is clean when it's your turn. Definitely the best the choice in town.

To the old guy who turned my boyfriend away yesterday after “not believing” our bag count because only 288 cans can fit in a bag not 300 I just came in this morning with a bag full of 350 cans hoping to run into you just to show you you can’t count and was happily helped by someone much more lovely. I think it’s time to get a new job:)

Even before the reno it was pretty good for a recycling depot, but they have the new machines so you stick your cans and bottles in a tube and it tallies it up on the side and prints off a slip that you scan and it pays you out, fast easy and clean. There's also good handwriting stations and places to recycle mostly anything else beyond bottles and cans. Best recycling depot I've been to.

Amazing staff that work really hard but it's a shame there are double standards.One day I had my cans in flats which were pre-counted but they still wanted me to use the machines to put them in 1 at a time.Today I go and there is a huge line up for the machines so I wait my turn. I go to the till to turn in my milk canisters which are too big for the machines but there is 2 people in front of me making the employees count each of their bags and all the cans inside. After 5minutes I asked the employee why I waited in line for the machines if people can just come to the till and hold up the line so 2 customers can get their bottles sorted. The employee says I don't know what to tell you"."

They switched over to a system where you have to feed your bottles and cans ONE BY ONE into a conveyor belt. VERY VERY SLOW NOW. I hate it. Some bottles get stuck in the belts and have to be pushed through with broom handles. VERY VERY SLOW. All in all, a tremendous mistake to convert over to this system. I'm never going back to this place. They aren't kidding when they say: A family owned

Busy most of the time. But the line moves quickly. I find the staff helpful & friendly. The biggest downside is the smell of old beer & fermented wine coolers. Rinse you bottles & cans people.

Staff is really great and accommodating. They count quickly, and you're through even faster if you've pre-counted. If you go during peak times, be prepared to wait a bit, especially after a holiday. It would be nice to have more registers, as there seems to be enough staff to run a third, but probably not enough counter space to do so.

Quick and easy and clean self service.

Our Ringette team was doing a bottle drive today. Kevin and his helpers were so helpful! Was by far the least stressful bottle drive we have even been involved in. Thank you!
