They have always taken great care of our little dog Winston. They have always been truthfully and we never felt pressure from them to get something done we were not sure about. Dr Rose is absolutely amazing, she is extremely knowledgeable and also kind and sweet Winston.

I think we all know that veterinary care can be expensive and unpredictable - we all want to do what's best for our pets, however you can't help but feel sometimes that there are unnecessary add on's, which increase the cost, particularly with senior pets. After having this experience, I decided to give GI Veterinary Hospital a try on a recommendation I received, and my experience was beyond my expectations. The Admin team are absolutely lovely and offered food samples prior to recommending me to make a large food purchase. We saw Dr. Alessandra Chek-Harder who in addition to being approachable, practical and friendly was also highly competent and was able to provide support and practical suggestions, BEFORE recommending costly tests. Dr. Chek-Harder did provide me with the information I needed for the purpose of the visit, as well as possible investments needed in the future, so there will be no surprises.I can't express how grateful I am to have now found a vet clinic in this very expensive city that works to build a long-term relationship with their client base. Cannot recommend this clinic highly enough!

Dr. Rose is the absolute best. We've been bringing our two girls here (Ester and Sudo) for years. Ester is quite scared of coming and the staff and Dr. Rose are so kind to her. Sudo LOVES the vet and it's no secret why! All the staff, techs, and other vets we've seen have also been top notch. I highly recommend this clinic.

We had waited two years to get into this vet and it was worth the wait! We are trying to figure out a very complicated health situation with our dog and they have been so helpful and supportive.

The staff at GIVH literally saved our girl's life twice this year, and got us through an extremely tough situation. You could not find a more competent and compassionate group of professionals to care for your furry friend! All procedures and costs are discussed in advance, and all the doctors take their time explaining their diagnosis and treatment plan. We are so glad we found GIVH!

The vets at this clinic really care as well as the vet techs and receptionists. They go above and beyond for their patients on a daily basis and they are SUPER knowledgeable on anything you ask them regarding your pet. I have been taking my Sullivan here for a few months and can not speak any higher of the staff at this clinic. Sullivan has had more then a few things go on with him and the vets always provide compassion, listen, and take there time in their assessments; there’s no “rushing you out the door here” and the they provide prompt medical treatment. They also will follow up with you on the phone regarding any questions and provide you with support. For example I was super nervous with his neuter due to some of his previous health stuff and the vets here called me and updated me every step of the way as soon as he went under and then as soon as he woke up. During the night I was also able to call and speak to a vet tech and seek advice for stuff that was concerning me with Sullivan post neuter as one cool thing at this clinic is they have vet techs at night you can call. When little things have gone on when I’ve had questions they’ve always provided guidance over the phone or via email and they do not recommend any unnecessary tests or treatments. If you want a vet who truly cares about your pet is super knowledgeable, and is compassionate this is your pace to go I cannot recommend them enough.

I’m so glad that I have found the best vet in Vancouver .The doctors and staff are super friendly and extremely professional.I can not thank enough to Dr. Wallace .She is an amazing Doctor. Her work is through and her diagnosis and timing to surgery -( she doesn’t operate but her diagnosis was really right tfor my dog to have a surgery right away ) - has been always perfect .She has taken care of my mischievous dog’s problems amazingly . - an object in nose, allergies, ear infections , limping leg to big surgery , tooth cracks , arthritis … I can not count .Dr. Wallace explains everything I need to know and I want to know nicely so every time I see her , I leave the vet with content feeling .Thank you Granville island vet anc Dr. Wallace for solving my dog ‘s problems and keeping her healthy!

This is the BEST place to take your pet! They are kind, professional and caring. We take our rescue dog there and she is timid, but she doesn’t mind going here! I’d say she loves it but realistically she loves sleeping, playing and going to the beach. Vets can be scary places for pets but she is ok here. They are all so incredibly nice. I highly recommend!

Being a first time puppy/dog owner, I’ve asked many friends and relatives on what vet clinic they recommended in combination with reading reviews and asking public forums. They all recommended Granville Island Vet and I’m glad I decided to go here. Pixie came here for her vaccinations and checkups and the first time she met Dr. Rose, she was greeted with lots of cuddles and treats! Dr. Rose is always very patient when I ask her a list of questions and she’s also very personable and easy to talk to so I appreciate her great bedside manner in dealing with both Pixie and me!Front desk staff are also very nice and one time when I called Into the office to ask about whether I should bring pixie in immediately due to some stomach issues she was having versus trying some home remedies to see if it might help, they were able to get a vet (can’t remember who) to call me back later in the day and she suggested the home remedy first. The reason this sticks out to me is that with other vets I’ve visited, the first thing they’d tell me to do when my Pixie was experiencing stomach issues was to bring her in for an exam and then they’d immediately issue her medication which for a puppy as young as she is (at the time, she was only 11 weeks old), I was concerned about giving her more antibiotics since she had already been on a week’s worth of medication prior to me picking her up from her breeder and then an additional week’s worth when I brought her home as her stomach issues were so persistent. I appreciate that the staff took my concerns into account and suggested we try a more natural remedy before needing to use more medication and didn’t charge me for a vet visit to tell me this information (which I can very easily see other vet offices doing).
