I recommend BEDR to everyone I know! I adopted my pup Lou in Sept 2021 and had a wonderful experience. I was contacted by a foster quite promptly after submitting my application and she was incredibly kind and helpful. She gave me lots of information and asked lots of questions, as well as doing a virtual home tour, to ensure me and my pup were the best match. The process was quite straightforward. I live on Vancouver Island so adopting a dog in SK felt a little scary but the pictures, videos, and updates they provided until I was able to arrange transport gave me peace of mind. I am so thankful to BEDR and the foster for giving him such a wonderful start to life, and they went above and beyond by even arranging for another foster to drive him to meet me halfway. We are so happy to have found our new family member and if we are ever in the position to adopt another we will definitely be going through them again!

I adopted our puppy in late December from BEDR and I could not have been more impressed with everything! It was my first time adopting a puppy so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The foster family was such a joy to work with. She made sure I had all the information I needed and was so friendly through the whole process. It was a quick turnaround from application to bringing our puppy home and sometimes that can be hard and unorganized but this was very smooth. Our foster suggested a date to do the handover and was so nice and understanding when I asked for the day after instead due to scheduling conflicts.If you’re looking for a new furever friend or wanting to donate you won’t go wrong with Bright Eyes!

We adopted our pup from Bright Eyes in March of 2021. Despite being in Manitoba, the adoption process was very easy and the foster home was wonderful in working with us to be able to bring our pup home within covid travel restrictions. Communication with Bright Eyes was great and the rescue gives potential adopters as much information as possible about the pup (including best approximation of breed and age as well as temperament information from the fosters). The adoption of our pup and her integration into our home was seamless and because Bright Eyes also maintains a private Facebook group for adopters, we are able to keep in touch with other homes that adopted littermates which is wonderful not only because we get to see how they all mature but also because if any health issues arise down the road we can share information. Highly recommend Bright Eyes and should we decide to add a second pup to our home, we will definitely be adopting through them again!

I adopted my baby in may of 2020. The adoption process was simple. The fosters did a virtual home visit to ensure I had the room and yard to look after a dog. Being that I am far north I was very appreciative that they were able to meet me in Saskatoon. After he was neutered, the process was simple to get my fee rebate. Awesome people that do great work. When Holt grows up a bit and is ready for a sibling I will definitely use this rescue again.

I felt disrespect in the adoption process. I wrote in the application my family was out of province for the summer with our other dog. They contacted me for a visit with the prospective dog and it went fine so I filled out the adoption form then said oh we can’t adopt unless everyone is here. Fine those are your rules so why come over get my hopes up and then say oh sorry. Unprofessional and would not recommend this organization because of the aggravation.

I highly recommend adopting a dog from Bright Eyes Dog Rescue. We adopted Teddy, who has special needs. Great care was given to ensure that it would be a right fit and that all the information was provided. The process was straight forward and the foster parents were amazing. Bright Eyes really care about their dogs’ well being and Teddy was in great shape when we got her. Her medical needs were up to date and you can tell that she received a lot of love and care while waiting for her forever home. So grateful to Bright Eyes for being so good to our Teddy.

Worst experience ever! Poorly run organization. During adoption process, they adopted the dog I applied for,gave me some BS line that they were concerned that the dog would be with me everyday, or with my son at feedlot, around other dogs, people ,cattle and kids. Even after I explained that I had experience with the same breed. They wanted supervised play dates with other dogs and kids, or I could adopt a different breed if dog. Ive git more experience with that breed than anyone in this organization.

Amazing place! Local non-profit organization who are trying to help dogs all over areas Saskatchewan. They're always looking for donations and volunteers to help out with fosters, or helping on-site with HQ. Everyone there is super friendly and hard working. Currently volunteering with this lovely group so I'll attach a photo of some puppies sleeping on my legs.

We adopted Ford from the truck litter back in February and I have NOTHING but great things to say about BEDR. We applied for him right at 7pm the day he was available and heard back from them by 9pm that our application was accepted. We did a virtual home visit with his fosters to ensure we had a good home for the guy, and everything went so smoothly. We picked him up within a week of that home visit!!! My favourite part about BEDR is that we are able to keep in touch with Ford’s fosters and other BEDR adopters to hear their great stories. Such a positive loving environment for these pets! The fosters are amazing, the dogs receive great care before you adopt, and the process is crazy easy!
