What a group of lads. I've been visiting East Village Barbershop for close to a year now, and all I can say is quality. Every single barber in the shop is very good at what they do, and offer premium services. Additionally, the vibes are immaculate, you are practically chilling with the guys! I was originally introduced through barber Enzo, but after gaining comfort with the rest of the barbers, have received services from all of them. Definitely the best shop in the city, and looking forward to bringing a lot of friends and family here. Cheers lads.

This is the review you are looking for. The atmosphere and vibe are cool and they do a good job, most of the times. But the staff lacks basic decency. Let me tell you why.I booked Lloyd twice. I had recently moved to North America and was paranoid to try a strange barber since I have been going to my old one for 7 years. First time, Lloyd was good. He cut my hair real nice and exceeded my expectations. It was not perfect but I liked it.I booked him again 2 days back. This time he messed up my haircut. My haircut is called “step haircut”. Anyways, he pushed the line separating top and side without asking me. And he did this because he trimmed the hair on corner of top a bit too short. To cover that he decided it’s fine to push the line. Now, the line is the tricky part. Even if it’s off by a cm, you will end up looking like a clown. That’s what happened. I realised that once he was done but I did not confront him as he had gotten busy with another client and I thought it was rude to interrupt him.I was upset but I also knew that even the most brilliant and skilled make errors every once in a while. But what upset me was what happened afterwards. I called the shop to talk to him once I had gotten home. I asked if he had pushed the line. His response was “I don’t remember”. It had just been literally 20 minutes. It was a white lie. I said okay and hung up. He called again later to say that he did not push the line but placed it where it was natural. With that he offered me a free haircut.Now, messing a haircut is fine(even though I will have to wait 4 months at least before getting haircut, the other option involves me going bald). We all make mistakes. What really angered me was the gaslighting. He did not have the decency to admit his mistake. For the future reference, an acknowledgment of the mistake and a simple apology go a long way than a free haircut will ever do.Won’t be going back.

Loid was a beast. Managed to fit me in last Minute and really did a great job. Made me look super job. Would definitely go back on repeat
