Lady Hammond Animal Hospital

I adopted my cat from someone who couldn't take care of her anymore as a kitten, so I didn't have much of a medical history for the first few months of her life. None of the staff at Lady Hammond have ever made me feel panicked by that fact. They have always been patient with explaining things in depth to me, as I have never owned a cat, and they clearly love the animals they work with. From when my cat was spayed to her yearly vaccines, the cost is always lower than I expect going in, and I never receive unexpected charges at the end of each appointment. Can't forget to mention how Cedar is insanely good entertainment in the waiting room too haha! Mushroom and I thank you, and we'll definitely be coming back!

The whole team at this vet is the f’ing best of the best! Kim Peacock is amazing and so knowledgeable. After a long process of delivery my girl could not get her last pup out, she’s a frenchie and if your looking for a vet that is the best in the city with this breed she is your lady! They included me in every decision, they kept me up to date on everything. I seriously could not have asked for better care for my girl and her babies. I felt so comfortable and at home there. I love how chill and fun the environment is. I love their honesty, and their price is the best in the city. Not to mention a vet this amazing is open so early and closes so late. This will forever be my vet for my fur babies. Thank you so much Lady Hammond vet we’re so glad we found you!

Great experience, friendly and professional and our puppy was totally at ease with lots of attention, treats and belly rubs.

I needed to book a vaccination appointment for my dog because it would be overdue by Feb 1, and she wouldn't be able to go to daycare. The best my vet could do was Feb 16 (even though I called way back in Dec 2022).I called Lady Hammond clinic on Jan 30 and the receptionist was so kind, so understanding. She squeezed us in today (Jan 31).The staff was friendly and welcoming right off the bat. Same with the veterinarian (sorry I didn't get your name!). He was so friendly and kind, and I could tell my dog wasn't stressed out at all after her shots.Thank you so much for being understanding and getting us in ASAP. We really appreciate it!Olivia

I had so much trouble around cape Breton trying to find a vet for my cat to get a neuter. I had to travel to Halifax to have it done and Lady Hammond animal hospital took him with no problems and fit him in very fast! I’m so thankful because it was so hard to find a vet to take him around cape Breton. They have a great staff and take great care of your pets! My kitty Leo was great and I can’t recommend them enough thank you guys!

We were extremely comfortable with the veterinarian and we were not scared of getting an invoice that made no sense. We are happy with our choice and highly recommend him.

Updated my initial post. I originally loved this vet because everyone was so friendly to me, and remembered me and my cats each time I came. That is now not the case.First, a simple dental procedure ended with my cat permanently blind. They had no idea how or why, I got zero answers. I got referred to a specialist in NB, however I don't have time to go and they even said it may be pointless as there is nothing that can be done about the blindness.My other cat was dying of a kidney failure and I had to beg them to take her in because I knew she was dying, but they wanted to wait until the other vet came a few days later (on Monday evening, I was calling on a Saturday) because that was the vet that dealt with my cat originally. They brushed it off as simple dental issues (her mouth was bleeding) but in fact her kidneys were failing. Wasn't until they saw her in person on Monday evening, 2 days later, that they realized how bad she was. I had to put her down that night.I am still distraught that my two animals that I love dearly that were mistreated in the care of this hospital. I put my trust in these vets and they failed me. I am still heartbroken over the loss of my cat and wish I could go back in time to take her somewhere else.Sad to have to even write this review, because the vets and staff were caring to me during my time there, and so great to me when I had to put down my 2 year old cat, letting us stay late and giving us support.. However, I just can't trust them after everything.

I've been taking my pets to Lady Hammond Animal Hospital for several years. What I like is that the clinic is easy to access. They are close to my house and I can get an appointment in a reasonable time frame. Unfortunately, I have not been able to accompany my pet into the appointments, as of late. Also, the wait times have been considerable. Staff however is generally competent and friendly. Everything is very straight-forward.

I love this clinic. Dr. Khan and Dr. Peacock and the techs are all fantastic - you can tell they aren’t there to upsell and just have your pet’s best interests at heart.Their receptionist Cedar is wonderful and fees are very reasonable, especially compared to elsewhere in HRM. No one is ever running late. Elvira and I will always be back if we ever need care!
