The Carriage House Retirement Residence

I really like the library, where one can curl up with a good book, watch tv, or have a game of shuffle board. I also like the dining room, perfect for sharing a meal with friends and family.

Was so very happy with the care I received for my father at The Carriage House. They are meticulous with care and safety. With all that has been going on in the world there isn't anywhere else I would want a loved one. Kindness, empathy, compassion and safety are their number one priorities. I can't say enough positive things about the Carriage House Retirement Residence.

After hip replacement surgery, I checked into the Carriage House for after care. The staff were amazing. I could not have asked for more. I highly recommend this senior's residence for respite care. They met my every need with a smiling face, kindness, and professionalism. Thank you!

My uncle is currently living at The Carriage House. I can't say enough about the staff and management. They have being my saving grace while we navigate the complex and difficult Long Term Care system. My biggest worry was him not enjoying the food. From day one he loved the food and liked going down to the dining room. At 97 years old he can't walk and almost blind but they took him on and look after him 100%. Thank you Gerry and all the support staff!

Make sure that when you are moving your loved one to nursing home or if they pass away that you are aware that there is a 30 day notice period for which you will be charged. They will not remind you of this because they want the room vacated as soon as possible so this is a heads up to check.

Nothing but positive words and praise for the fine staff at Carriage House. Having to make the difficult decision for my partner to reside in a residence for more care than I could provide, my mind was immediately put at ease after the tour. From administration to housekeeping to frontline healthcare workers, every interaction I’ve had with staff over the past three years has been nothing short of pleasurable.

My dad was there a few years and loved it , its a residence not a home and they tell you that up front . There is no medical care ,this is for seniors that are moblie and have there wits ,where meals are provided , cleaning and medication is handed to them if you ask for that service. He was always playing cards and other activities .Its more like a hotel, you can bring in your own home care.

If I could give them more than five stars, I would. It is a wonderful place where staff and the Manager work in unison to make residents feel happy, secure and free. I went there for a month after an operation for respite. I had a chance to see the place inside out. The Manager Gerry is a phenomenal leader who works along side his team of Nurses, PSWs and office staff to cater to the individual needs of the residents in every possible way. He says, in no unsure terms, that this is the “home” of the residents and their needs come first. And this message reverberates through the works of all staff. I had called staff at midnight and early morning at 4AM, and they always greeted me with a smile and made sure that I knew that they were there to serve me. What a service-oriented attitude. Gerry always greets the residents individually at breakfast, humbly stopping by at each table to let them know him in person. This personal touch extends to an open-door policy throughout the day. I have seen residents in their wheel chairs wheel into his office just for a chat, and despite being busy, Gerry always has the time for a hearty chat with the resident. I have seen the expression of freedom, happiness and security on the faces of the residents and a sense of belongingness. No wonder, they have befriended me with joy and invited me to join them in their Bingo and other programs. I found the food very wholesome and fresh. Also, there is no taboo on what the residents can do. They are free to order any food from outside and attend any program of their choice. The nursing and PSW services are amazing and quick in response. The individual attention given to each resident by all members of the staff and Gerry are simply amazing. I cannot say enough about this place. A great place to leave parents knowing that they will be taken care of well.

It is always a pleasure dealing with anyone at the Carriage House, from the receptionist to Debbie in accounting to the nurses and Gerry the General Manager all outstanding work. I never had to worry about Kurt, you always had his best interest. Thank you. During Covid everyone that worked at the carriage house worked so hard to keep the virus away from our loved ones.
