AgeCare Glenmore
Alot of people can sit and complain about the care their family members receive. My father is In Bayview and from the moment I did the walk through with Bennette and Alicja I knew dad would be in good hands.Rule of thumb. Treat people with respect as the Health Care System has been through so much.Glenmore has been doing so many things to improve that people sometimes forget to show some courtesy and say thank you to the staff. Things are always taken care of and if they miss it unintentionally tell a staff member and it will be fixedOver all a very welcoming environment to place your love one's in.

Our mother moved into AgeCare Glenmore two years ago. The transition was very difficult for Mom and the family. I believe this is normal under the circumstances. However, her care has been excellent. Our mother is 99 and continues to be cared for gently and lovingly by the staff. Many of the staff are good, but most are excellent. They treat her with respect and give her dignity. Not only do the staff always call her by name, but most staff take the time to learn our first names as well (5 children).I have monitored the food and found it to be very good. The building is well maintained and extremely clean. The social areas are excellent. We recently hosted her 99th birthday at AgeCare with over 100 guests. The staff were amazing in supporting our needs.I believe it is impossible to please everyone in this type of living. Demands on staff are very high, but response from staff is almost always with a smile.Mom initially had transition struggles to living at AgeCare but quickly settled in and is very content. All 5 of her children are very pleased to have her at AgeCare Glenmore. We all agree, including Mom, it is the best place for her.

My mom became a resident at AgeCare Glenmore 4 months ago and we recently flew cross-country to see her. Prior to our visit, my interaction with the staff had been solely via email and phone calls, as we do not live in Calgary. However, I had frequent communication with the various departments, and it was consistently professional, yet warm and friendly. My mom’s transition to long term care was extremely difficult for her but I was regularly informed of her progress, and I was encouraged to contact the facility to address any concerns. I was particularly impressed with the fact that the staff was always available to discuss issues that arose, and all this was done long distance. We spent a great deal of time with my mom during our visit and were able to assess the level of care she is receiving first-hand. The facility is an older one, but it is very clean, safe and well-run. What makes AgeCare Glenmore special is the wonderful people who work there. If I could characterize the care with one word, it would be “compassion”. My mom is treated with dignity and respect while all her needs are attended to by a network of people who truly care.My mom entered AgeCare a frail and weak woman, both physically and emotionally. Today, four months later, she considers AgeCare Glenmore her home and the staff her close friends. The fact that she is happy is testament to the team of hard-working and compassionate individuals who have helped her regain her strength and have lifted her spirits.Thank you to everyone at AgeCare Glenmore whose dedication and love has given my 92-year-old mom a new lease on life.

I am very, very pleased with the EXCELLENT CARE that my husband is receiving at the Glenmore Age Care Facility. All of the STAFF are very professional, considerate and most helpful. The daily “hands on” care is excellent, he is always shaved, dressed, clean, given opportunities to join activities, he is carefully monitored when needed. I am always consulted about any concerns that the staff…(Dietitian , Social Worker RNs, Doctor, Physiotherapist) may have about his well being. I, also, have noticed the way staff deal with other patients, it is EXCEPTIONAL.The FACILITY itself, is a bit older but really quite lovely and welcoming. (Think old Southern hotel) It is well maintained with ongoing renovations. It is very clean, safe, pleasant to be in with lots of little APPEALING AREAS to sit in. These areas are immaculate. The main foyer has a huge reception area with plants, water fountain and large windows. The individual rooms are large, with lots of the patient’s personal belongings. The rooms have large windows overlooking beautiful garden courtyards. My husband is well cared for, respected, safe and content.Thank you.

Fantastic care. (At the beginning)Once you do not visit as much the patient care is reduced to almost negligenceResponse to Owner Response: It is pretty obvious what the issue is. I will re-type it in case you did not understand.Once a patient is left alone for days at a time, the service is NON existent. The compassion and care is gone. If you come as a visitor un-announced and walk the halls you will see lonely eyes of elderly begging for some sort of interaction or communication. Extremely depressing and sad place.

If you care for your loved ones do not consider agecare glenmore. The quality of care is poor - there were numerous times when my father pressed his call button multiple times for help and the nurses/health care aids took more than 15 minutes to come and check on him.My father deteriorated dramatically and quickly after being moved into glenmore (in the span of 2 weeks he went from walking short distances to being bed ridden/requiring an electric lift to get out of bed/having numerous contusions and broken teeth from various falls). They tried to convince me to change his goals of care so that they wouldn’t need to call an ambulance for him because “the hospital wouldn’t be able to do anything”. One night he complained of chest pain and instead of sending him to the hospital they attributed it to laboured breathing and put him back in bed. In the morning they found him facedown on the ground and I had to force them to call 9-1-1. We later found out that he had actually had at least one massive heart attack and from then on was basically non-verbal. Workers there left him in his own waste before changing him for hours.Beyond the horrendous care the facility is old and the “double rooms” are definitely rooms that used to be single but were transformed into doubles to bump up their cash flow. I am attaching pictures of the “room” my dad was put in, which was actually a 7x10 foot space (shoebox) without even a view of a window and barely allowed room for a bed, a small nightstand, and his wheelchair.Oh and less importantly, the location is on a very busy street with no street parking which means you are forced to pay for parking each time you want to visit your loved ones.Glenmore was never our first choice but it was the option that became available and I naively thought that the reviews on here were exaggerated. If you are considering glenmore.. just don’t…. Seriously just wait the longer time for another option to become available. I wish I would have waited and kept him in the hospital instead of accepting Glenmore’s bed offer.

My mom has been in this facility for about 9 months and she loves it. The staff is friendly, it’s is bright, there are so many places to visit, the gardens are great in the summer, my mom likes the gym and she says the food is great. My dad was in a different nursing home in the NE for 11 years and my mom was in another facility before AgeCare and this is by far the best. It’s clean and they have taken excellent Covid 19 measures.

Our family is very fortunate that our mother was able to move into Age Care Glenmore. She enjoys attentive care, tasty meals, and as many activities as she can attend. The residents enjoy outings and a good amount of live entertainment as well as engaging occupational therapy with Charmaine and Simon. Mom has her hair shampooed and set weekly in the salon, as was her routine when she lived at home. Mom has made new friends through programs such as knitting club, bingo, and trivia to name a few. There is even a happy hour! All the staff has made the effort to get to know mom and greet her by name as she makes her way through the halls. The physio department is diligent in encouraging mom to walk and maintain some mobility. As mom is at risk of falling, my greatest appreciation is that she is in a safe environment. It is never an easy adjustment to leave your home for facility living. Mom has adjusted well and happily tells me, when I visit, everything she has done.

Our Mom went in to the Age Care Glenmore Centre (Beverly Care Centre) last year due to dementia and a stroke. Having to go through Transition Services for Long term placement, we (the family) felt that Age Care Glenmore was our best option at the time. We are happy to say we have no regrets!Mom is being taken care of very well. From what we have observed, she is treated with respect and dignity. The care giving staff have Mom’s health and safety at heart. When we are visiting they will come and say hello to Mom (and us), but they talk directly to Mom. They often can get a reaction like a smile, when we cannot, and we don’t think Mom would smile if she wasn’t taken care of properly. Over the year if there have been any concerns the staff have remedied or responded to the concerns right away. The care and attention provided by the nursing staff, the aides, the food and nutrition staff, recreation staff and the extended care giving family at the centre has been wonderful. It is very comforting to know that Mom is in good hands. Thank-you!
