I appreciated them letting me know early on that my budget (~$450k) wasn't going to work for a small modern custom build (~1000 sqft). I basically received the same feedback from another local builder - definitely sticker shock! Now I can focus on the prefab/container options out of Quebec/Ontario that are looking promising.Update as I can't find where to reply: City is Fredericton. Very quick first response, just delayed updates.</div>

So we went looking at many different models but each one had something we liked but not the right fit for us. Went to local builder price to high for what we liked.One Saturday morning seen post on facebook Martell glass promise i thought what the f...! Pierre talking about on budget and on time no sup prizes ya ya heard that before. So i had nothing to loose sent an email to call me at 1pm and at 1pm the phone rang. It was Pierre the owner of Martell custom homes taking time to talk to me on a Saturday TRY THAT WITH YOUR CONTRACTOR GOOD LUCK! So he said he would ask me 15 questions and get me a rough price. Size /how many stories /type of finishes /how many bathrooms ect . He said he could build me a 1150 sft house starting around 145000 I called BS. BUT WAS I WRONG that is hard for me to admit. He asked if i had a plan of the type of house i would like. So i pdf my online plan next day he sent me an email stating that he could get real plans drawn for 800$ But he sent me a plan that was close to the one i sent him. Me and the boss looked it over and liked it but asked if we could make changes.He said if we stay within exterior specs should not change much. So i took plan and modified it to our likes. And then it happened that first meeting at my convenience. Met Pierre and taught hes not a shady salesman down to earth just as crazy as me and my girlfriend felt comfortable right away. Showed him my remake of my plans and said leave this with me and i will get this priced for you give me a week and we will sit down again and i will show you $for$ the cost and we will go from there.So one week later we met again driving there i told my girlfriend don't get your hopes to high. We sat down and i asked so can you do it on our budget he said yes even better i will be under budget YOU DON'T HERE THAT ANYMORE . He showed me the price a taught it was a joke but he showed me the brake down to the last dime.SO i got up and kissed him on the head he was way lower than other contractors by 15000 to 20000$. I had seen post on facebook of different homes and they were all beautiful so we singed of on contract.On a Friday i gave him down payment one week later shovel in ground wow from that day one they keep blowing my mind.foundation in 2 days after dig progress we were in static its happening.Then framing started these guys are true finish guys you could take level on any stud and dead on. Electrician wires strait attention to detail was mind blowing. Every trade that came were nothing but the best Dan our project manager was awesome i was able to do some sweat equity to have my hand print on somethings so we did cedar shakes stone on fireplace put in kitchen and thy were more than ok with this we had a key from start to finish we could come and go as we pleased So you know they have nothing ti hide.From start to closing this was stress free fun a pleasure to get to know all the best vendors tradesmen and most of all THE MARTELL TEAM CAN NOT BE BEAT! Even doe our house may never be feature house on any website we still think its the most beautiful house we have seen for our taste.SOOOOOO IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUILDING A DOG HOUSE OR 2000000$HOME DONT THINK JUST CALL PIERRE IT WILL BE WORTH IT. CHEERS!</div>

Although it was stressful at times, they were completely on time and on budget. Remi was incredible to work with! Having never built, we had lots of worries when contemplating a project of this magnitude. We were building our “Forever Home” and there were so many things about what we wanted that were non-negotiable. Finding a team that would work with us and for us was paramount.Entrusting Martell Custom Homes with building our “Forever Home” is easily one of the best decisions we made. They worked diligently to make sure that we ended up with the exact home that we wanted. And to top it off, it’s pretty amazing that they were able to nail the costing of such a large build so accurately.I spent quite a bit of time at the work site throughout the whole build. It was a fascinating process. Seeing the talented craftsman in action was inspiring to watch and it made clear that Martell only uses top-notch trades. The proof is clearly evident in the quality of the finished product. I highly recommend Pierre and his whole team. They are great people and are sure to make your dreams come true as they did ours.</div>

Make no mistake, ours is not one of them.However, we did have a very specific plan for a bright, airy, open-concept house with plenty of south-facing windows and superior insulation, and we had a relatively modest budget to work with. Our initial meetings with Pierre put our minds at ease that our requirements were in fact achievable well within our budget. The quote we received was very detailed, Pierre explained everything to us thoroughly and provided some excellent suggestions. One that stood out in particular for me was some additional ways to further improve energy efficiency with the best return on investment possible.Pierre and our project manager Dan are both really cool down-to-earth guys who run a tight ship, which made the process a lot more enjoyable and less stressful than we imagined. We've all heard the horror stories about various builders and the massive cost/time overruns. I'm happy to say it certainly wasn't the case with Martell; we finished on time and on budget. And we absolutely LOVE our new home!The quality of the work is excellent, they clearly hire quality people who don't cut corners. There are always going to be a few hiccups while building a house, but Dan and Pierre always did a fantastic job making sure any problems were addressed ASAP.Transparency was extremely important to us going in, and Martell REALLY deliver with their project management website. We could log in at any time and see exactly where the project was - in real time - in terms of budget, timeline, to-do list, upcoming appointments. It also served as a contact point to directly ask questions to the various people involved with the project. They even uploaded weekly pictures of the progress of the house, which we always looked forward to seeing! I can't imagine building a home without this sort of feature.We've been in our new home for nearly two months now. It's actually -25 with the windchill as I'm writing this, but our home is warm and cozy, and the daily energy usage is far less than it was in our previous (and much smaller) home. Thanks so much to Pierre, Dan and the rest of the team!</div>

We were looking for a quiet neighbourhood in Memramcook that was still close to the city. We ended up buying a lot in Martell Estates.We built a couple house in the past but this was our first time dealing with a contractor. Pierre got everything set up with the pricing, planing and tentative start dates as soon as his Draftsman Remi was done with our house plan.Daniel ended up being our project manager. We can’t say enough good things about him. I’ve worked in construction for close to 15 years and dealt with numerous projects managers over the years. I can confirm that he’s one of the best around. The attention to details to make sure everything was ordered on time, the trades were on schedule and deadlines were reached throughout the project was impressive to see to say the least. Everything was well planned with no oversights along the way.For anyone on the fence about contracting your own project or hiring a company I would suggest to give Martell Custom Homes a call. You’ll quickly realize that most of the trades are harder than ever to book, the material is harder to get and you might realize that the price difference at the end of the build isn’t as far apart from what you would end up with contracting the project yourself. Let’s not forget the hundreds of hours. Just my opinion!It was a pleasure working with Pierre, Dan, Remi, Angela and the rest of the staff involved in our project. We couldn’t be happier with the end result.</div>
