Shady Oaks General Store

Shady Oaks General Store should be the only stop for campfire wood, I buy good hardwood, which burns long and hot. They will actually take the time to educate you on the different types of woods for your needs. They make sure you get the wood you want and need for your campfire. I used to buy the slab wood, not any more. The slab wood available, in the area, burns so fast and offers nothing for you to cook on. It really offers no value for the money you spend. Even if you only want a fire for a fire you should be using hard wood, it does cost a wee bit more but it burns so much longer, you actually get more for the money spent. That's not all they sell. Go into the store.....groceries, fishing supplies rainy day fun stuff for you and the kids, delicious hand scooped ice cream, chips, bars etc. There are also batteries and surprise....items to make the song your cell etc. Much easier while camping. Honestly, this is the only store we stop at when in the area. I could say so much more......oh, one last thing, it is always busy and you and I know that's means it's good!

Great fire wood. Hot and fast, or slow and steady. Very fair prices. Coldest ice around. Jake and Karina are wonderful.

Great place, friendly people. Stopped here on our way to the cottage to stretch our legs, and enjoyed some ice cream. Loads of good firewood, icecream, benches and play space for all to rest for a spell. And a true general store well stocked for campers and cottagers.Plan to make this our first stop on all future west coast adventures. Thank-you.

I came to this place multiple times last year while at the Pinery to get firewood and some snacks. I was very satisfied with the service. The quality of the wood was awesome and it was for a good price. Definitely recommend and coming again this year!

We have been getting our fire wood here for probably the last 20 years. We never have a difficult time to get it started. We will continue getting it from this store because of the GREAT staff and excellent firewood and many other necessities in the store.
