Access Midwifery & Family Care
Do not go here. They suddenly and very unexpectedly discontinued my care (at 30 weeks!!) because I was advocation for a non invasive, Non induction birth for myself and my baby. They didn’t even have the decency to transfer my care. They left me to navigate through a long list of OBGYN Dr’s who of course are all not accepting patients at this point in pregnancy anymore. They are not midwives who care about you in the least.

I felt so supported throughout my pregnancy having a team of midwives. They took their time with me during each visit. They were amazing during and have been after the birth as well. Very grateful!

I came to Access for my first baby and primarily worked with Melanie (though due to Covid I think we ended up seeing the whole team!) and everyone at this clinic is amazing. They were extremely caring and attentive through my whole pregnancy and did everything they could for me during a stressful and very long labour experience in a very busy hospital. Highly recommend their care!

Access Midwifery & Family Care
Unprofessional, unethical, and inappropriate behavior by both midwives especially Heather Nelson and her rude, obnoxious tyrant of a receptionist Katrina Abel. They are more than happy to participate in obstetric abuse. Caused so much stress early in my pregnancy then had the gall to try and act like they didn’t do anything wrong. Avoid at ALL costs. I sacrificed having a homebirth so I could get away from this loopy practice.

Lorna, Misty, and Heather took fantastic care of us and we strongly recommend them without reservation. We appreciated their evidence based approach to midwifery, their focus on informed consent, and knowing when to put their foot down. These three are a fantastic team, and it was apparent the hospital staff highly respected their expertise.

My experience with Heather Nelson & Lorna has been amazing. I had my second child with them and am currently with them for my third pregnancy also. I’ve found them to be kind, professional, & knowledgeable. After a difficult first birth without midwife care, I’m so glad I sought out Access Midwifery - they listen and spend lots of time making sure I understand my options and choices in everything. I was super nervous about my second pregnancy and it turned out to be a great experience with their care.

I am so so sorry for myself to choose these midwifes. The only person who was so genuine and caring was Melanie, and i was able to meet her once , after she left on mat leave, i ended up meeting the whole team! What a mess! Very unprofessional, rude and specially meghan lied in front of myself to the nurse about me refusing the second test for gestational diabetes even though i wanted to do the second test but Lorna said no i dont need to do it. They didnt do anything.I would never ever go back to these unprofessional people. Choose another midwifery you will be much happier and in a better place
