What a great experience. Picture this: Its the Jasper Dark Sky Festival, the weather has forecasted clear skies, 24 degrees Celsius during the day and stays above zero in the evening. Luuk starts us out with a thorough 2 hour tutorial where we learn about camera settings for dark sky photography and what our cameras are capable of. He has timed this session perfectly with a wrap up at 6. We drive to our location, complete a short 20 minute hike to an area with 360 degree views, and plan our shots with enough daylight to get settled in for the next few hours.Luuk does an amazing job with spending time with each of us to try different camera settings and different compositions to get the best shots during blue hour and into the dark hours of the evening. We wrap up the night at 10 pm feeling like we took part in something special.Hanging out with Luuk is an experience that you want in your life. He is a professional and relatable guy and really great at finetuning the session to your experience level. I strongly recommend that you get yourself signed up for one/all of his tours.

This tour completely exceeded my expectations. I had a fantastic experience and learned a lot. We saw six bears, couple of elks , two marmots, a monster waterfall and an array of mountains and lakes. I would recommend this adventure to everyone.

We did an astro night photography workshop with Luuk on Oct 22 - it was wonderful! We spent the first part of the workshop going of the kinds of things you can do with nighttime photography, we setup my camera so we could find all the right settings and then we went out and around Jasper to try it all out. We took photos of the Milky Way, the Big Dipper and we tried some star trails. Basically he found a way to try out all the stuff that we learned in the classroom. He was well organized and had a plan for every weather possibility. We highly recommend his workshops - regardless of the weather. You’ll learn a lot, take a lot of photos and have a ton of fun.
