Cooney For Hair

I have been getting my hair cut at this salon on and off over the last few years. Always got a good hair cut here and the staff are very accommodating and nice. They were able to squeeze me in last minute. I got a cut from the owner recently and he really took the time and effort to ask me questions to get to know my hair history and my haircut preferences. He also explained his technique and asked for my feedback and gave me options if I wanted to change anything. Really good communication and of course I was very happy with the haircut.

I had my hair cut by Cooney and it was such a pleasure. The studio is very nice and Cooney himself is such a lovely person to talk to. A very positive experience with an amazing haircut as a result.

I went to Cooney 22 years ago when I use to work near his old shop. It was the first time in my life I had a haircut that still looked amazing after 5 weeks. I have moved to Singapore for years now but whenever I am in Toronto I go and see him. He's not just a stylist but an amazing guy and good friend.I have only yelled at him once in 22 years! (and I yell at everybody!)Everybody in my family goes to see him when they can and even some a**holes who are associated with my family still go to see him. You would think the a**holes would stop going there because of the association but he's that good!

Had a great haircut and really appreciated that I had the whole studio to myself during the pandemic. Would highly recommend this salon to anyone!Cooney the owner, cut my hair. I had a bad hair cut before and Cooney was able to fit me within the week. And he fixed my bad haircut!!He asked alot of good questions about my hair so that he could cut my hair that would naturally fit my lifestyle. I loved the extra care and attention he took on the cut. Great salon; great stylist and great customer service.

I've been going to Kaori here for a couple of years now. Service is good, people are friendly and I love the haircuts I'm getting. I got cuts at several salons in town before finally settling on Cooney for Hair, I don't regret it one bit!Caveat: it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for

This is the first place I've ever been to that actually cut my hair properly. My hair is coarse, thick, and wavy/curly, and they section it off in individual curls and then cut those curls in a way that compliments my hair texture and the way I like to style it. They actually cut it with a sense of science and artistry, unlike so many other places that would just cut it the way they would cut anyone's hair, with no artistry and no consideration for what works with my hair's texture. Now my hair looks the way I've always dreamed of it looking, because it's been cut properly. I've found my new place!

I've been there for 15 years, even travel from Pittsburgh and London (Canada) to get my haircut. Cooney is an artist! Love him!

I had my hair cut by Kaori this evening and I can honestly say it was the best haircut I’ve had in a long time. She gave me exactly what I asked for and in the end I left SO incredibly satisfied. She and the gentleman who was there were very friendly and the salon itself is very cute, clean and comfortable. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a skilled hair dresser who listens to what you want and executes it to a T. Thank you Cooney you’ve gained a long time client!!!

So I was going to have my wedding makeup and hair done for myself, my mother-in-law, bride's maids and my husband here but they totally ruined my wedding day.I called the day before my wedding to confirm the appointment. Usually they ask for deposit but I was totally busy the whole month so I couldn't drop by to pay the deposit. But the reason the owner asked for deposit was to make sure I show up. Since wedding hair and makeup need to be done on the actual wedding day, it is extremely important and I don't think anybody will risk not to show up on time to have that done - that's why I called to confirm the appointment (I talked directly to the owner)On the wedding day at 7:50 in the morning, I brought my wedding crew to the hair shop 10 minutes earlier all the way from North York and this guy ignored my phone calls for 10 minutes and finally answered at 8am sharp. I called him more than 10 times. When he finally answered the call, he said he didn't bring his staffs and didn't open the door. I was completely terrified. I've wasted 1 hour on my wedding day. No hair, no make up done and only 2 hours left till my wedding ceremony.My brother got so mad and he called him and asked him why he didn't bring his staff although I called him the day before to confirm the appointment. So it was all about that deposit. Then my brother asked whether he needed that deposit to pay the staff. He said NO. That deposit was meant to be returned to me once I make the appointment. No flexibility at all. This is someone's wedding and you wouldn't want to mess with someone's big day. Such a poor service and very narrow minded.I would strongly not recommend anyone to have any wedding business done with them. They are not reliable.
