Saskatchewan Social Services- Income Assistance

I gave two stars as some people are helpful and.polite while many others are rude and belittling attitudes. It is not easy to ask for a handout. .and the staff can be confusing..I submitted all my.paperwork and have had to beg plead and practise patience to get the help I have needed.. I am stuck with no money ..found a clean place to live can't afford to live on own all paperwork submitted and still my service is suspended...stressful and they make.it.me. stressful

With the client call centre being so hard too talk to a human,social workers should have the same authority as the client call people.I have been trying too call the client call center for 3 WEEKS!.I call right at 8am but I can not get through! This SIS Program people need to allow social workers to help them! I picked(this only happened once in three weeks) to talk toosomeone"that person had a terrible attitude and say"call the client center

I rid some of the review, people seem satisfied but it don't bother me, I don't like to get involved or takes sides, the only time that will bother me is if I leave my assistance and move on going to school, I can't go back into assistance anymore and then what am I going to do, this will seem like a challenge for me. But they seem to help me lots and try which is good. I'm going to say this is okay for me. Not bad or good just in between.

The staff here are over worked and underpayed.

I don't have a good review for social services because they belittle people they don't make people feel like they're they're worth anything I have been on social assistance and to me they look down on people they don't care about people... the only thing I can be thankful for is when they had the Saskatchewan skills development program and help people actually find a job or give some training.

Kind, helpful people work here. Sometimes they have a hard time, but they provide services with dignity and endurance. To get through, you need endurance, but on the phone, specialists make every effort to explain.

There was a few people waiting but not crazy busy and everyone was respectful ( staff and visitors both)

Waited 3 hours to speak with someone, regarding my neighbors fraudulently collecting assistance and when I explained the situation, she hung up on me because she didn't know how to deal with it! Neighbor also has people living in their driveway collecting assistance as well and they're using MY address! Shouldn't the Saskatchewan government be more aware and require bills for the address they're claiming they reside at? Absolutely shameful on all parts, staff should be more accountable, instead of paying for these individuals drug habits.

This place is an absolute joke to society. Literally my gf is unemployed and needs a job so shes on social services till then. But she has no money. Social services expects her to somehow make it across the city in - 30 to pick up a move form, then go back and get it signed by her landlord, then go all the way back to pick up her cheque. On top of this they told her they will cancel everything if she doesn't come within the next 5days. They expect so much of ppl. Like how do you expect us to make it there. They were literally holding her cheque for her not bringing in her taxes. Yeah they asked for taxes, what meal you ate the other day, the last time you got off and more. They will hold your cheque for any reason. Their system...its a poor excuse for a system. Idk what they do there all day other than sit and do nothing. I know they are here to help. But at the same time they do a terrible job of it. Yes they have helped out alot but they are extremely difficult to deal with. They are lazy. Impossible to get ahold of. Terrible customer service. Sometimes straight up rude and ignorant when your being nice to them. Honestly once my gf gets a job good riddens to them. Highly advise you dont deal with them. They dont even deserve my one star...
