I think the rooms and hotel is very dated bit run down and shabby never been updated in 40 years.The food is surprisingly good though at the restaurants and in casino but the breakfasts are disgusting I stopped there for months and only tried them once and that was enugh for me. If you like to gamble or you have kids that love the pool it's a place for you.

What a joke this place is! I reserved a room, get there on the date, go to pay and I am told credit card only! This was not told to me before hand! They refused to accept cash or my bank card! We just drove over 4 hours! Thank God my husband had his credit card with him! But this should have been told to me well before I tried to check in, the whole place is very old, wallpaper is peeling everywhere, vents falling off, very loud squeaking noise from vents, the window in our room had one hinge broken, the screen fell out! My small child could have fell oiput the window very easily! the bathroom is disgusting, extremely old, yellowed walls! The whole place has on a dirty smell mixed with extreme pool smell. The pool is freezing! Extremely tiny! The hot tub has been down for over a year! That was not told to me either! This was by far the absolute worst experience! $232 a night for a horrible stay! So very dissatisfied! Absolutely avoid this place at all costs! Don't believe the website at all!

On June 29, 2023We stayed at the Medicine Hat Lodge for our anniversary and a drs. appointment.8am ... in the morning, my husband and son and I went for our complimentrary breakfast.we asked a worker ( she informed us her name is Sandra)if we need to show her our tickets or just put them in the basket. My husband asked what did she say ...I shock my head ... saying I didn't hear her.Than she went off ... saying it's not her fault... That I didn't speak up... that you people come in here yelling ...(that's when I told her I can hardly talklet alone yell)(I can't ... I just had surgery and am unable to talk very good in the mornings)... I left to go turn around to go to the frontdesk. She started yelling...you go ahead and report me to the front desk. She said she's here because she wants to be .... that she can't get fired.Bullies come in many shapes and forms. Rudeness is a talent not a personality trait. Sandra....you are rude, disrespectful and shameful. I am sad that my autistic son had to see this first hand. We will NEVER go back to the Medicine Hat Lodge. And I hope that matters are dealt with appropriately for people like youand that the people don't have to experience this horrible display of disrespect as we have.Truly ... bullies need to be stopped .. no matters what or how they think they are entitled to treat people.Sincerely:Val MooreLethbridge , AB

Manage your expectations. This IS NOT a 4 star hotel. The beds were clean and that’s about where the good review ends. Every part of this hotel is very run down. From the pool to the bathrooms to the common areas etc. Service is OK but don’t expect to be wowed. The breakfast is as you would expect - copious amounts of cafeteria grade fare. Definitely not worth the price, feels like a $100/night hotel.

I can’t believe how difficult this hotel makes it to book a room for a spouse. I’ll book hotel rooms on a monthly basis for our travels, and never have I ever experienced such a difficult time getting my spouse and my 13-year-old daughter into a room. No common sense is used, no assistance is provided when your family is 16 hours away from where you are and you’re just trying to get them in a room to sleep after they have been driving for 10 hours plus and arrive at night time. Do better! Not only has your customer service deteriorated, but your beautiful Buffay you used to offer has been window down to a continental breakfast at best. You definitely don’t get what you pay for it at this hotel any longer and they don’t make up for it with customer service.The room was decent however, my family arrived at 10:00 PM and literally just slept in the room and left the following morning to make the 10 hour trip back to Winipeg. So not too much to comment on this.

The amount of money this hotel makes I can’t believe how run down it is. Our room was completely empty of the normal hotel stuff. The lotion/ shampoo was previously used. When called to ask for new stuff they said they were busy . The pool…. Was not ok. Water was so cold. . No hot tub. And the sauna was locked. Slides were fun but they need to be updated. Like I said for the money they bring in they should use it on the main things. The night stay was the worst part. People were smoking in the halls setting off the fire alarm all night. Finally left with children in the middle of the night to the comfort inn across the road! Wouldn’t ever stay there again or recommend to anyone. The only place that I can recommend in that lodge is the steakhouse! Great food!!

We stayed 2 nights, first night our room was unbearably hot and humid, AC wouldn’t work and the room was very dated with the worst beds, night 2 we asked for a different room and was told check in for the new room would be at 2, called at 3 to see if the room was ready and was told half an hour. At 3:30 the room was still not ready, the staff was rude about it, came back at 4:15 (check in is 4) our room still was not ready so he put us in a different room after slamming the phone down in house keeping’s ear and pretending to shoot himself in the head. This rooms, again was very warm, ac didn’t work well and made loud clunking noises all the time. Did not give us breakfast vouchers, which didn’t matter because the food was terrible. The hot tub is covered over, the lobby was full of drunk people all night and in the morning the outside entrance had half drank bottles of booze everywhere. We used to love this hotel but the stay is not worth the price and the service was horrible. I’ve never seen someone pretend to shoot themselves just checking people in. Will definitely look for better and friendlier accommodations next time.

Absolutely disappointing! Raised the prices because of a convention and I understand that however there was no housekeeping. I paid for two rooms … close to $1200. When I checked out and mentioned this I was told next time I stay I should phone and request housekeeping. Really?? Never will I stay there again!And.. also after 9:30am to 11:00 am no place to get a coffee or food in whole place even though they have 3 restaurants. One being in the casino which wasn’t open either.

This is an older hotel and the room was showing its age a little (shower leaked, ceiling tiles needing replaced ect.), but it was a good price and the hotel has lots of amenities including a waterpark, spa, casino, restaurant and conference center. I was there for a conference and they served us lunch as well, which was decent. All the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Not one to hand out 1 star reviews, but these folks earned it! Room was filthy and hasn’t had even the most simple of upgrades, care or attention. Outlets wouldn’t hold a plug, mold around the tub surround, hair and dirt on the bathroom floor and the paint to hide the water damage on the bathroom ceiling was over- sprayed all over the door trim. The room was 85 degrees when we entered and didn’t cool down after the AC unit ram all night. Virtually every corner that could be cut was. Remarkable that the owners feel it appropriate to charge top tier rates for such a literal dump. We would have shared our displeasure with the staff but they could be bothered to ask how our stay was at checkout.
