Just opened a bucket of beef, it was the most disgusting bucket of salt beef I ever purchased, nothing but a bucket of fat. Wont be buying this anymore. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Wont let me post without checking off a star, but it don't deserve a star

Paid $40.00 for a 2K pail of salt beef here in Inuvik, there was four (4) pieces and half of it was fat, it is sold as cured and trimmed" I wonder what was trimmed of it; it did not looked trimmed to me. I will not be buying this again

It was terrible just paid $30 at Calgary Co op when I opened it there was 4 pieces said it was supposed to be trimmed and it was all fat... Cooked it for 4 hours and then tried to eat and it was as tough as an ole rubber boot. Never had that type of experience before usually falls right off the bone... Can't understand ....

I actually wish there was a 0.001 star to rate Blue Buoy Foods.I bought a 2 kg bucket of Chalkers “Choice Beef” “Cured Trimmed Beef Plate (Navel)” but there was no beef if the bucket.I am in no way exaggerating here but, of the 2 kg of ‘product’ in the bucket, no less than 1.7 kgs was pure fat.I am so disappointed and I’m guessing there’s probably not much I can do . . . Other than never buy it again!!!!Sad reallyI’m wondering how a company like this can legally provide products to consumers like this. How can they still be in business?

My son bought what he thought was a bucket of Chalkers salt beef in Kitchener yesterday. Today I opened it but it’s pork riblets. They are delicious. The price was a little high at $28.00 for 2 kg but it’s only a little store. Compared to the salt beef we get here it’s gourmet food.

So sad when I opened this $40 bucket of beef. first thing I thought was 'where's the beef'... I found 7 or 8 pieces in the bucket, trimmed them as they should be when buying trimmed beef, had to keep some bones or wouldn't have anything. was shocked to see that of 4.54 kg bucket of trimmed navel beef there was 2.211 kg of just fat, not including the bones. I am a Newfoundlander as well as a cook, I highly recommend anyone interested in authentic salt beef, buy it at Sobeys or Dominion/ Superstore and buy Tony's brand from Antigonish, NS. It sells for between $18-$20 for 900g. It is in a clear vacuum sealed bag and you see what you are buying. (Be careful to get navel beef and not corned beef) .... for this Chalkers 'Trimmed beef' I paid $37.99 for 2.233 kg of meat/bone, spent half hour trimming and ended up with a lot less quality product.

Doesn’t even deserve a star. $40 for a bucket of salt beef that you couldn’t get a sandwich out of. I wish I could post a photo to to warn you.

Choice beef? More like choice fat. Ashamed to say this product was actually made in NL. Thanks for ruining an Easter dinner. If you have to buy chaukers, make sure you have another bucket for backup.

I bought a bucket of Chalker’s salt beef and it was almost all fat, very little beef and certainly not trimmed. Stay away from this product and hopefully it’ll stop appearing in your local grocery store.
