Although there are not many vegetarian options, the service, food and ambience is great. Would definitely recommend this place. We had the soup of the day along with a goat cheese salad that was amazing (presentation and taste)

Café Cherrier is, in my mind, one of the most reliable French-style dining options in Montreal. Located on beautiful St-Denis Street, it offer mid to high end food and is, particularly, a great brunch & lunch option.Two-course lunch ranges from approximately $16 to $25, including an appetizer and a main. Desserts and drinks are, of course, extra. On my last visit with my father, we ordered the potato salad with white boudin and tomato cream soup as appetizers, and the smoked salmon fettuccine and mixed grill as mains. While all four were delicious, the highlights were the potato salad (with just the right amount of mustard in the dressing to add zing without overpowering) and the mixed grill merguez sausage (somehow at once spicy and delicate).I highly recommend Café Cherrier for a casual romantic lunch, or a mid-afternoon summer catch-up between old friends.

Had a delightful and satisfying lunch on the patio. We had french onion soup, which was very rich and delicious. The baguette side was unusually fresh and tasty.I had the duck confiy salad which was great. Some of the best tasting duck I've ever had actually. My companion had the blood pudding sausage with apples which he loved. It's the kind of meal which continues to linger in your tatsebuds an hour later.

Took the table d'hôte with the cannelloni and boudin as an appetizer. Overall the food was ok, it was a bit expensive for the quantity and quality. Service was great considering the heat!

Another amazing Montreal institution! I love everuthing about Cafe Cherrier. The classic casual french bistro food which can be enjoyed in their dining room, their beautiful patio and (my favorite) the bar counter. Friendly staff, everyone knows each other. The place is awesome.

I came here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. As the week was wonderful , I decided to sit on the patio which allowed for people watching while having a good meal. The food was good and the staff was very attentive. Definitely would come back.

Went for beer with a friend. The service was good, the ambiance was good, there is slso an outdoor terrace for summer time. The shrimp tempura& fries was acceptable. However the potato size in the fries was too narrow and short, making it like a challenge to grab & eat.In the bathrooms, there wasn’t a place to wash the hands. I think they’re renovating or changing that part. But felt weird. However they had put moist wipes, lotions.

Been here many times and again for brunch today. Even though they were short-staffed (due to pandemic), our waiter - who was totally overworked and scurrying around like a super hero, service was friendly and accommodating right to the last second. The place is usually full on weekends and reservations definitely recommended. Oh - and the art and photographs displayed on their walls, are stunning!

Cute bistro/café style restaurant serving some French classics. The duck salad was great, very flavourful with the meat prepared just right for the dish. The fish soup is also a must try and the sauce accompanying the shrimp appetizer was especially great. Service was good as well.
