Dr on call last night May 20 2023 was every unprofessional and rude. After 5 hours and a pee test for my 6 year old granddaughter we ended up leaving at midnight still with her not seeing the doctor. But knowing that she has a bacteria infection only because we could hear everything at the nursing station, once the guy on mushrooms and domestic abuse started walking around the hall, my daughter went to ask the nurse if they could fax a prescription to the pharmacy as her kid did not need to see or witness what was happening. She was told to close the door and that coming and asking takes up there time and that isn’t the way it works, then was proceeded to be told by the doctor that she is the one she’s waiting for and started to give her a lecture. Omg why didn’t she just sign a perception and let us on our way, nope she just walked away. At this point looking at my daughter I said that’s enough let’s go and you can take her to red deer when you get home in the morning.Yes, we called the help line and they said she would be good to do that. I did inform the nurses station that we were leaving and they want us to sign a paper, nope not happening as we wouldn’t have left, if the doctor was professional.

Superb services from her obgyne/ surgeon thru her nurses ( Denise/ Claire her HCA .)everyone I just didn’t get their names. Thank you so much for all your effort.

I am quite frustrated with the treatment I received and witnessed today on March 9th 2023 from 10:30am-8:15pm. I arrived at the ER at 10:30am with severe upper and lower abdominal pain, I was vomiting all morning, wasn’t able to eat or drink anything. My first 7 hours , weren’t so bad but then there must’ve been a shift change after 8 hours because the whole ER staffs attitude changed. At this point they have just kept pushing me with pain medication, each time in between giving me the lower doses it was a 2 hour wait in severe pain, till they realized and gave me something different. I pressed the call button only twice but both times it took almost 20 minutes for anyone to come but I could hear the nurses chatting away from their station about their vacations? Around 8 1/2 hours of being there, they gave me the highest pain medication they could and told me I could leave after 20 minutes, That was at 6:30pm. At 7:30pm, the Iv was still in my arm, I’ve pressed the button, been waiting 20 minutes and I can hear the nurses talking. 7:45pm my family arrived to take me home, Iv still in my arm. my family member asked what was going on and the nurse sitting there snapped at her very unprofessionally saying we had to wait, no explanation. So I went to sign myself out and the doctor magically appears, keeping me there for another hour and this doctor decides to argue her beliefs and gets frustrated with my family and finally at 10 HOURS I had the iv out and was able to leave with no answers to what was wrong with me to begin with. That’s not the end, right before we leave I could hear and see the nurses talking about my family member unprofessionally, calling her “the crazy lady”when all she did is speak up and get me out of there and ask genuine questions. It wasn’t only me I seen this with today, there was a poor family beside me with children under the age of 12 years old, sitting there with their mother who was having severe medical issues, the children pressed the button when she first needed help because of an emergency and it took 2 minutes for the nurses to show up. Those nurses also proceeded to get frustrated with those children for being scared and got ridiculed for not knowing exactly what was going on with their mothers health. Then the doctor proceeds to come in after this family has been there for 7 hours already and tell the children their mother is discharged, but she was sleeping. So he wakes the mother up and an hour later the kid walks up to the nurses station to ask if they could leave and this nurse decides it was okay to yell at this young boy that they told him he had wait, after AN HOUR of waiting to leave. It’s time to do better. Everyone I know recommends going to sylvan or Red Deer and I completely agree.

i fractured my wrist and arrived at RMH in pain. I was processed quickly and efficiently, the wait for an ER doctor was 20 minutes. Care by Sunday evening physician ( June 19, 2022) was quick and to the point with x-rays and diagnosis, and consultation with orthopedic surgeon. I was casted and on my way home within 3 hours of arrival. All staff were exceptional. We are fortunate to have this high level of care in a rural area.

My mother's aunty is staying in the hospital she needed apple sauce so she could take her pills she is very old, the nurse brought her some smalls ones but no spoon so they asked for a spoon to go with it as soon as the nurse left the room she throws her arms in the air in frustration... very un professional.

I have edited this post from its previous.I was not impressed at all on my last trip to the health centre. Normally, time spent at ER is 3 to 5 hours.My last time I was there, 7 hours when I left. I have been told by nurses in both Rocky and Red Deer, best bet to go to Rimbey or Sylvan Lake.My first visit, I had severe abdominal pains. Went to ER. Waited almost 5 hours. They said they think it is most likely a bacterial infection. They decided that since the roads were to bad. Told me to go home and if it gets worse come back. Turns out, I had a severe case of a ruptured appendicitis with a ruptured abscess. Hospitalized for over 2 weeks.

I’m surprised so many people have had such bad experiences here. I’ve been having mental health issues as well as physical since February and they always treat me with nothing but compassion. I’ve yet to come across a better hospital and I’ve been to a few.

Wonderful at helping me get in touch with my mum long distance after she was admitted unexpectedly. I'm confident she's in good hands. Great regional hospital, kind staff despite what I know are difficult times with short resources.

Endoscopy unit nurses were all great. Kind and friendly. Drs were great too.But, Becky (not sure her position there) was absolutely rude and demeaning to me on the phone for whatever reason she decided. I was actually in tears I was so frustrated with her attitude as she has zero idea of my previous medical trauma. She needs to treat patients with respect and compassion.

Yesterday, Dr Gordon and all the ER staff and support staff were very quick, knowledgable, & efficient. Hubby & my friend rushed me in with a severe asthma attack (ambulance was out on a call). Medical team quickly determined undiagnosed pneumonia as a contributing factor. Effectively treated both conditions, was medicated in the ER and sent home (in 3 hrs) with Rx for continuing treatment at home. Very thankful for the quick thinking, great training and dedication of the staff. And the empathy & courtesy shown to me, family and friend who rushed me in.
