In January 2021, I hired Marks Roofing to replace my shingle roof with a standing seam metal roof. Work started in May, and immediately there were significant issues. During the construction, four leaks occurred resulting in $15,000 in damages. Aside from the leaks, the new flashing installation was done so poorly that the siding on the second floor of the home needed replacing, causing another $30,000 in damages. In addition to all of that damage, in the winter of 2022, heavy snowfall was too much for their work, and both the gutters and plumbing vent stack broke. I could go on and on; it was incompetence at every step of the process.Uninsured subcontractors were hired to work on the roof, and as a consequence Marks Roofing's insurance refused to pay. Sukhi, the owner of Mark's Roofing promised me that the leak remediation would be paid for, but he never did and now refuses to reply to any communication from me. I was left to pay the significant bills to fix their work and the damage they caused.Reply to the owner's response:You are lying.Flashing behind the gutters was missing causing a gap between the drip edge and the gutters, this caused water to drip through the soffits. When I sent you pictures of this issue on August 20th, 2021, you ignored me and never responded.No one came to inspect the plumbing stack problem. I sent you photos indicating that the screws that secured the vent boot were digging in to the pipe. Your subcontractor Arize Roofing called me, but made some excuse about not having his tools and never came. There was no snowguard added above the vent pipe to hold the weight of the snowpack, which was a clear design failure. In the end, I hired another roofing company to address the issues.The reason I was forced to pay the restoration company (ServiceMaster) that your subcontractor Arize Roofing sent, was because they wouldn't start the remediation work until someone signed the work order, and you or your subcontractors were not around to sign it, so I signed it with the promise that you or your insurance was going to pay the bill. ServiceMaster was not able to get your subcontractor to pay the bill, and your subcontractor's insurance refused payment because the damage was caused by subcontractors that were not covered by the policy. ServiceMaster was threatening to put a lien on my property, so I was forced to pay.You keep saying your insurance is dealing with the paperwork, but it's been two years and nothing has been done. I've already spoken to the insurance company of your subcontractors and they have explained why they are refusing payment.I've been incredibly patient in this multi-year ordeal, but your refusal to answer my phone calls, emails, and text messages has led me to post this publicly.

To give you an idea of our home, it is multi pitched with built in gutters and 15 downspouts.We canvassed many roofers and settled on Marks Roofing because of the professionalism displayed by they’re site foreman, Suk. He was prompt in answering our questions, coming to the house 3 times to explain things to us rather than phoning. You could tell he had a great deal of roofing experience. He brought samples on numerous occasions (because we couldn’t make up our minds) and even talked us out of a more expensive product then we required. In addition, Suk gave us addresses of places they had done or were currently doing so could understand more.We decided to work with Marks even though they weren’t the lowest price, because we felt confident they could do what we wanted.We were kept up to date on when they could start as dates were being shuffled because of the weather. Finally the crew showed up. Hard working and happy is the best way to describe them. Even our neighbours commented on that.In the end we got exactly what we wanted with no surprises. There were a couple of glitches but nothing serious and everything was handled very professionally.We love our new roof and recommend Marks Roofing without reservation.Thank you Suk and your crew!

Though Sukh / Mark seems to very polite and kind at first, the workmanship of him and his team is very poor. We had to routinely follow-up and comment on small issues, from broken roof tiles not being patched as promised, and roof cleaning being done with shortcuts. This is despite him being paid what he was seeking, even though certain work was not completed as quoted.In addition, we had asked him to remove the roof debris and garbage he left behind, which he would be paid for, and we were met with more excuses. There was dirt left all over. It wasn't until we received a second opinion to check after he said he was done his job and took the money, did we realize this.He charges premium rates, and promises to return to follow-up, but upon collecting payment, goes silent on the issues.Attached are images of the poor quality of work that he and his team did. If you are paying a high sum to him, be aware and consider giving your business elsewhere.

We were truly satisfied with the quality and skill of rooftop and render. For the substitution of our asbestos rooftop, we got three citations, and the costs were practically identical. We were at first attracted to them on account of their ability and status to clear up everything for us completely.
