We've know Mr. Kevin at Yuen's Martial Arts in Port Coquitlam for almost a decade and he continually impresses us with his ability to make children and family martial arts classes a fun, safe and information experience. If you live in Poco and are looking for a first rate martial arts school then Yuen's is the place to invest your time, energy and effort. It will definitely be worth it.

Our family has been with Fremont Martial Arts for three years; I have children in both the Tae Kwon Do and Jiu Jitsu programs. During that time, we have seen growth in our children on and off of the mats; self confidence has increased, skills have improved, and a sense of pride in their work has developped. Mr. Kevin is an exceptional instructor. He takes the time to know each of his students, and adapts quickly to their needs.

Fremont Martial Arts has been an amazing experience for us and our daughter. We had a bad experience from a different Martial Arts school, so trying to find one that was NOT a glorified after school daycare was a bit hard. We were looking for a place that didn't give out colored belts like candy, and wasn't a place where my daughter would just run around with hands/feet flailing aimlessly without proper instruction.After looking through Sensei Kevin's website, my wife and I decided to just take a chance and sit through a class.When you go into the dojo, you will notice 2 things:1) CLEANLINESS. This place is clean, and doesn't smell like an old gym bag. We have all seen virtually every Martial Arts school advertise discipline". Well.. isn't cleanliness a major point in that?2) RESPECT. You see the students bow (and not just a quick shake of the head downwards while walking away) as they enter the mat and even into the dojo. So

I had my 6 year old son in another martial arts centre in Port Coquitlam until about 3 months ago when we moved to Yuen's. This was such a good decision I regret not making it earlier. Mr. Kevin is AWESOME with the children. Patient, fair, disciplined. Yuen's is everything I had hoped for in a martial arts experience!! Highly recommend this centre!
