Had a great time at L’Etat-Major in Hochelaga. The dishes here are top-notch - fresh and well put together. Every plate we tried had a special touch that made it stand out.The place has a nice, relaxed vibe, perfect for any occasion. The staff are friendly and really know their stuff. They made sure we had everything we needed and answered all our questions about the menu.If you're in Hochelaga and want a solid meal, definitely give L’Etat-Major a try. It's a place that puts a lot of care into their food, and it shows. Can't wait to go back and try more from their menu.

Bring your own wine restaurant. French style. Changes menu fully every month or so.Update after a few months, they are getting much better with the menu items. This is our favorite restaurant for this summer so far...

Food was lousy. Thinking that ordering the most expensive plate here et mare for $43 will be a good choice.. wrong size obvious the tiny little shrimps come from a frozen bag and the beouf tartare was so dry.. stay in Hochelaga cause I don’t see them in plateau miñe end etc etc

Great food and service! We started with octopus and chanterelles and then had duck and sea bass. Every dish was excellent!

An altogether beautiful meal with friends. We all chose different mains: chicken, trout, cod and venison all unique flavour combinations worked deliciously. Fabulous food. Service was friendly but uneven. Room for improvement. But definitely worth the trip to Hochelaga!

Delightful evening. Excellent, helpful service. Warm, comfortable atmosphere. Well presented French cuisine. I was also impressed with their timing: short waits between courses. Will definitely return and bring a group of good friends to toast with.

A pleasant surprise while on a date. The restaurant is semi-upscale, but the food is just on another level (yep I forgot to take pictures because it was THAT good) This is the veal tartare. My main dish was the stag.... just. Amazing. Our waiter was also outstanding!!! Would definitely come again!

We arrived in a group of 7 around 9pm. We were promptly seated after our coats were hung in the closet by the front door. Our server opened the wine we brought and we were on our way. Our server explained the chalk board menu in French and English and we ordered our food. Everything was served with good timing and the service was A+.We all found the food lacking for the price. The bread served was cold and hard, portions were medium to small at best and as a medium level home cook, I can make better. At these prices I expect more. Not a bad meal, just not special. I had some small plates in a pub earlier in the week and found them much more deserving of the prices charged. I left hungry.Bring your own wine, so no alcohol on the bill. 20% tip for good service. $200+ for meal for 2.

Exploring the city for new discovery, this place is a must go. Very impressed by the touch of plates. Every plate is special, has its own fragrance. The menu is on a board on the wall, very simple menu. They change their menus every once in a while, i must say, im tempted to go back !
