Blackfoot Truckstop Diner
Years ago the food was so much better. The old owner took so much more pride in the business. Food was better and prices were lower. I understand that thier supply and labor costs have gone up but in my opinion that doesn't mean you should opt to go to lower quality food and raise the prices for it as well. With all the competition out there it seems like a guaranteed way to lose business... but hey what do I know about business. Got a burger from here a couple weeks ago and it was just a pre-made frozen pattie on a store bought bun. There was absolutely nothing memorable about it at all.

Always a great stop for us to have breakfast when arriving in Calgary. The locals can do it anytime, I am so jealous!! Photos are of their lemon pie. Their flapper pie is just as tall. Unfortunately they were sold out.

Blackfoot Truckstop Diner
My first time here finally after living here for 15 years and I was hugely disappointed. We only received our food after waiting for over an hour with no one letting us know what the holdup was. It took almost an hour to even get a coffee refill. Our waitress was super friendly but never stopped to tell us what was taking so long and/or offer refills. Once the order got there it wasn’t correct but we had 2 young kids with us who were getting restless and we just dealt with it. No idea if we were charged correctly since I was only brought an amount on a machine and I couldn’t flag my waitress down to ask for an itemized receipt. We did find out later on there was a computer issue but not sure why we couldn’t be told sooner after sitting there for so long. The food was not phenomenal and my husbands food was cold. Atmosphere here I really liked. Old school, kind of rundown (in a good way) diner but I’m not going back anytime soon.

A classic diner experience. Decor hasn’t changed in years. Staff is always attentive, prompt and friendly. Great traditional diner food, including various pies. Free coffee refills flow as long as you like.

Stumbled upon this diner and the food was so freaking good! Comfort food at its finest. And the service was comfort food personified. Will definitely be coming back to try their breakfast menu! My coworkers say their pancakes and coffee are real good so looking forward to trying those!

$50.00 on slop!I have lived in Calgary all my life.I hadn't been to the truck-stop for years and was celebrating a milestone so I thought I would like a good burger and some flapper pie.If I want crinkle fries I will open my freezer and bake some, they would have been crispier than the garbage they put on my plate.All I could taste was salt in the gravy, I am sure it is packaged.The burger was O.K. charbroiled, but certainly not worth the $12.00 I paid, gravy was extra!NO FLAPPER PIE, so I took the advice of the waitress and ate the lemon meringue. People it is called lemon meringue for a reason because it has lemon in it! 1/4 of of lemon and 5 inches of meringue.I spent $50.00 on this garbage and when I looked at the bill she had charged us for 2 coffee's. I didn't have a coffee!Will never come back.

I have been coming here for 30 years. After my experience today, I will never return again. First off, our waitress slammed the cutlery down on the table when we first arrived and abruptly said she would be right back. In that time, a few other tables walked in and were served before us. Eventually she came back and made the excuse that shift change just happened (mind you the same servers were working when we walked in and when we walked out).When she took our order she spoke over us the whole time and didn't bother to write our orders down. This resulted in her having to come back to the table to reconfirm one person's order. We asked for extra crispy fries - they were not. And if they were, I don't wanna know what they would be like normally. Food was thrown together, lacking mayo on the clubhouse - very dry. One person's omlette wasn't cooked enough and my burger bun was falling apart (indicative of stale bread). It was missing bacon so the server went to fix that but the bacon was hardly cooked.She walked by our table at one point and snapped a menu on the table which made a loud cracking sound. She spoke to me in a condescending tone the entire time we were there. She came to refill coffees and spilled a bunch on our table while she held dirty plates over our table.Food was horrible. Service was even worse. After 30 years I will never come back to this establishment again. Ever since Edna passed away its been on a steady drop but today's experience was something I never want to deal with again.Go to Jam's Diner if you want good service and quality food.

Good atmoosphere, tons of character, our waitress was super nice and doing great considering she was relatively new and it was very busy! Great price for what you get, and the food is exactly what you want in comfort diner food. We will 100% be returning!
