We had to say goodbye to our sweet girl Pistachio this week. An absolutely heartbreaking experience. The people and environment, at Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic made this horrible time, a little less so. They were kind and patient with us, explained everything and gave us the time we needed.

My husband and I had an excellent experience at Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Our poor dog, Tyson, became suddenly ill on Saturday and was not getting better. This was unexpected and sudden. We brought him into the clinic on Monday. They welcomed Tyson warmly and with such gentle care. Each time we phoned, the staff were extremely compassionate and quick to provide a detailed update on our little boy. I never felt like a bother. We got the sad news that our baby would not make it (kidney failure and many other complications). Dr. Lutman was very straight forward and honest with the blood work results. She explained the results to us in great detail and took her time explaining everything to us. In the evening, a different vet switched over to care for our boy. This vet was excellent in discussing Tyson's current health status and was very respectful, honest, and compassionate during the entire decision making process. When the moment came, she was extremely detailed, clam, respectful, peaceful and supportive during the entire process. She walked us through step by step. We felt so comfortable and well taken care of by the staff.I 100% trust this staff. They made this heart-breaking process less stressful. All I can truly say is they are extremely professional, empathetic, understanding, and comforting. When it came time for payment, they provided options and were very gentle and understanding with their approach. We felt like Tyson was is the best hands possible during the final moments of his life.Thank you so much for helping us transition our baby boy to after life. He is peacefully over the rainbow.

We recently lost or fur baby jazzy about 2 weeks ago. We had to bring her in to the emergency vet. She was 12, had cancer and could not walk. She was in a lot of pain and her health had deteriorated very quickly in 2 days. Jazzy was my best friend. The team here made her passing less painful. They were extremely kind, extremely gentle , they made her feel so comfortable and gave us all the time in the world that we needed . They made a horrible situation of losing a family member bearable. Every little thing they did was noticed and we are so great full to them for how they were with my baby. They gave us an ink paw pro d and made sure she was tucked in and comfy when they brought her out so we could take her to be laid to rest. Thank you for all you do and I can’t imagine how hard it must be to watch people lose the such a big part of themselves. You are truly angels in a dark time.

We rushed here when our beloved 16 year old cat had laboured breathing. They acted so fast, ensuring he was comfortable despite his heart failing. They were incredibly caring and compassionate. We had to say goodbye to Oliver that day and I cannot thank them enough for making that awful situation as seamless as they did.

Within a week both my dogs needed urgent help. We had the best possible experience under the worst circumstances. Our 14 year old dog had what we now know is a seizure but she hadn't ever had something like that before and we were distraught. Our treatment was so kind and caring. At the same time everything was clearly and calmly explained so that we absorbed the information while we were recovering from our panic.4 days later on a holiday long weekend our other dog stopped eating and drinking and was clearly not feeling well. We got the same excellent treatment and witnessed so much kindness and patience by the staff despite a LOT of emergencies coming in. They made sure to keep everyone waiting informed of their wait time if they asked about it and offered support while waiting when needed. They were clear with people that it was a good thing if you were waiting - it meant your let was stable. if/when really urgent matters came in they were address immediately and with kindness. When we had to return for an emergency surgery to eliminate an obstruction we were explained our scenario and options and given space to make our decision. Our dog had the best recovery experience after his surgery and came home to us thanks to the very hard working staff here.I hope I never see them again, but if I do I will be glad to be in the hands of people who made me feel so welcomed, supported, and cared for in some of the scariest pet-parent moments of my life.Dr. Wendell and the many many vet techs we saw were incredible. They were so compassionate. They clearly love what they do and the animals/families they treat. Highly recommended.

We visited Huronia Vet Emerg Clinic early on a Sunday morning, 8am, and were able to avoid the long wait times noted by other reviewers, no one in the waiting room. Our 18 year old cat had late stage kidney disease and over the previous week despite multiple vet visits to our home vet and fluids, special food, medication her condition deteriorated each day. We didn't want her to suffer further and visited Huronia for a final visit. It was agreed to be the right decision. The staff were kind and vet Dr. McKee was compassionate and caring. We didn't feel rushed and were allowed time before and after to mourn our Mindy, who filled our lives with love and joy from the day we got her 17 years ago, till the day she passed in our arms. Our hearts are broken but thank you to the staff at Huronia, for it cannot be easy to have to attend to this difficult process regularly. Please know that your kindness and empathy makes a terrible part of life, grieving the loss of a beloved pet, a bit more bearable.

Huronia accommodated us very quickly on a Sunday for an emergency. They triaged our dog, and got us in to see a tech & vet as soon as possible. We really appreciated them breaking down the cost of procedures and giving us options before they began treatment. They did such a good job on the sutures, you can't even tell there was an injury. It was pricey, but that is to be expected for emergency care - we had no other option and they helped us right away. They sent all of the visit information to our regular vet afterwards. Thank you Huronia team for your kindness and professionalism!

Took my dog in today because of an encounter with a porcupine. First time being at this hospital because my own vet was not in their office. All I can say is this place is really great from the first phone call to picking up my dog. I guess I lucked out with the wait time as we were seen really quick. Professional, friendly, compassionate are words I read from other reviews and these three words are what I experienced. Will not hesitate to take my pets back should I need to again. Thank you Huronia Veterinary Emergency Hospital. My dog felt very comfortable in your care so that tells me everything I need to know.

We had to say goodbye to our dog of 12 years on Canada Day. The staff were extremely kind and compassionate. They were extremely busy that day but they made us one of their top priority's and helped comfort us along the way with every decision. We will always remember the staff and how friendly they were. Thank you so much!
