I wish I could give this place, and the friends/family/staff that run it, six stars. My husband and I originally booked a campsite for a very special holiday in Qualicum and had to suddenly change it due to wildfires. We were very lucky to secure the Alder #1 Studio at shoulder season pricing, which came with a private space nestled up agains the trees, our own little patio with chairs, and a space to relax after a stressful travel.Speaking of, we researched stores and restaurants and everyone on Google listed their closing hours as later than they were. Hornby businesses rely on Facebook for a majority of their updates, FYI. The result was we were stranded on our first night with no food. The Lodge (shout out to James and Dylan!) didn't hesitate to make sure we were okay, and really saved our trip from being a bit of a disaster. We also got to enjoy their Father's Day brunch, which was really special.I will definitely be staying here again with my family in the off and shoulder seasons. Thank you to everyone SO MUCH for making this trip memorable for all the right reasons!

Rooms are great, bed is very confortable but the furniture is very old.View is amazing!!!! The best view ever. The only thing i dont like it is that there is not restaurant available until 4 pm. And in the town there is not a lot of options to eat. I would like that the hotel can have an option to buy snacks or fruit specially if the hotel is buy out by a wedding and there are a lot of guest there.Maybe the concept of the hotel is different because as far as I see each cabin has their own kitchen so the people can cook. But anyways there are some guest that we are on vacation and dont want to cook.

I was a recent guest at a wedding and the experience was second to none. The location was magic but the true 'icing on the cake' was the dining experience. I never hold too much hope for wedding dinners as it is typically 'the fish or the chicken' but the chef knocked it out of the park. Flavours were balanced and enticing and plating was consistent and superb. At this point it is only fair to admit that I am a chef myself and picky. So impressed was I that I headed back with a foodie friend specifically for a meal during regular service. That can be a risk however it was an even bigger wow! If you are going to Hornby accommodation can be tricky so make sure you book that first. The menu is contemporary, fresh favouring local ingredients like the Pacific Rock fish curry which was superb. My friend had the gnocchi with foraged nettle and mint from the herb garden to great satisfaction.Rounding up the meal was the house made cheesecake and equally impressive and light chocolate mousse. We did not have an opportunity to meet Chef however they have nailed both the menu, balance of flavour against ingredients, and have set the bar high. I came away inspired which, after 23 years over the burners, takes some doing. Overall the experience was excellent. Well done Chef and Seabreeze! Á la Arnie.....I'll be back. The patio is not to be missed!

My friends and I came in June to stay and it was the most wonderful experience. We shared two cabins side by side close to the water and it was everything I was hoping it would to be. The staff were lovely, personable, and fun, and the grounds were just beautiful. We were very lucky to have cabins 11 and 12, and it just made our trip worth waiting 2 years of COVID restrictions for. I rebooked again immediately because this is going to be our new thing. I can't wait to come back and I hope the experience is even a fraction of how much fun it was to be there the first time. Thank you, Sea Breeze Lodge for being so wonderful!

The chef Harrison really knows his stuff and elevated this place a lot from what it was. Our fresh fish meal was really excellent and it was well executed. The views are also stunning. Would highly recommend if you are visiting Hornby.Food 9/10Atmosphere 9/10Service 9/10Value 9/10

Amazing place! We enjoy the beautiful sunset sitting in front of the cabin. The sea breeze at night is a bit strong in early June.

I am remiss in not posting this review sooner upon my return from an utterly unforgettable dining event at the Sea Breeze Lodge. First, the location, ambiance and service are 5 star, without exception, but my focus is to share my outstanding dining experience. The menu is up-market without being pretentious--that being said, the truffle fries and baked Camembert for starters are not to be missed, each meeting texture and balance of flavour expectations. For our mains, I had the blackened wild salmon (when in Rome...) and my partner raved over Chef's evening special of Duck Confit, which, to my one bite, was outstanding. The balance between a mouthful of melt in your mouth fresh from the sea salmon experience vs done to ruin is mere seconds however Chef, again, cast brilliance upon the plate. Desserts were limited but excellent. Off menu on offer that evening was a delightful apple blossom baked in-house with a high quality ice cream. Despite being wowed throughout the experience I always base my final critique on the post meal tea service. It was piping hot, milk in a carafe (not plastic pot)....and the tea was in a pot not a mug or ghastly stainless mini-dribbler of the catering variety. Staff was knowledgable for wine parings and familiarity with menu ingredients. I will most certainly be returning. The experience is worth the trek!

We recently ate at the dining room for dinner. The format is a buffet with a different theme each night. Our Thursday theme was Italian. We had enjoyed a different buffet theme last year but the Italian this time was awful. The food was plain, not much selection and cold in spots. For example the meat balls had no sauce on them. It seemed more like a buffet for kids but for $38.50 we expected far more. Perhaps try the other nights but avoid Thursday.

What a gorgeous location! We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The cabins could use a bit of updating. Otherwise, a memorable stay in a breathtaking location.
