I was kind of surprised reading the negative comments. I was well taken care .The emergency doctor was polite and professional. Was send to do a colonoscopy this morning and happy with the doc and the service they provided!

My mom entered in emergency and was later moved to short term care. The care and attention was excellent. The staff was top notch.

Worst emergency service ever. No doctors available, Nothing for the pain bearers….they say doctors are available 24/7 but they don’t even show. We have waited 12 hours for the doctor and this waiting was in the emergency ward. Patients were crying of pain but no one cares. And for them emergency is not this, for them emergency is 90+ old patients.

I just wanted to share an old experience in that hospital, I was then student in that hospital. My teacher gave me a old women to take care of she speak English .I saved her life one night I checked vital sign she has very high tension I informed my teacher and she informed nurse responsible there . When she came she talk with her in french I told her she talk English, this women was in that hospital for 6 month her room face the desk of this responsible nurse and she didn't know she speak English this nurse is kind Haitian. Other disgusting things happened with this nurse once a family kind Italian background brought there mother after they left this old woman was anxious left alone I went to her to calm her and this responsible nurse came out told here we talk french . I told her she don't speak french after she ordered someone to put her on straight jacket on his bed. I was horrified by that . imagine it was your mother this old woman wanted just someone to reassure her. Those people are human been we must treat them accordingly. I just wanted to share that perhaps someone who has power can change thing's.

If you’re looking for a hospital to take care of you, Jean-Talon is NOT the place.1. Terrible communication with the staff. Nobody tells you anything —what to do or where to go. I have never felt frustration like this in my life. My mother and I spent hours going from floor to floor just because nobody had told us clear & correct information. (but I also acknowledge the small language barrier — most of the staff were bilingual but French was definitely their first language so it made it a bit harder to understand as a native English speaker. I don’t blame them for that)2. The longest wait times you could imagine. I’m actually writing this review as I’m in the waiting room right now. We arrived at 8AM and it’s now 2:30PM. It took them hours just to attend to my mom. They seem to be understaffed. (?)3. One thing I immediately noticed is that Jean Talon seems to be extremely underfunded. The whole hospital looks run down and old, I know our healthcare system is abysmal but my goodness! The government should really invest into these hospitals. In my opinion, it’s the least they could do.In conclusion, I don’t think my mom and I will be going to this hospital ever again. I advise those who are reading this review to do the same. Don’t go.

never ever ever accept to have surgery at this hospital. What was supposed to a very common day-surgery turned into a torture day of 19 hours. Zero pain control expertise, almost noooo staff at the after surgery care unit. The one nurse is working non-stop to try and serve more than 20 surgery patients. No pain control, no release, not one doctor passing by. I pray and hope that no one ever needs to be operated on at that hospital. Very limited capacities and resources. Yesterday, I was in disbelief we are actually somewhere in North America. The Staff is running and trying their best with the horrible conditions and management. The nurses are amazing but got nothing to work with. A Hospital like that one should not be allowed to perform surgeries that require any level of after care of any possible complications. Almost every patient was suffering of major pain as they were not able to have good control or protocol in place. If patients are still at a hospital" and suffer that much pain
