Perfect trail for a weekend hike. Can spot some horses and a few cows along the way. There are a few dog parks if you have one.

Great trail! Meant for biking although we saw people walking their dogs as well. Be careful, there is a section that is really uneven and can get dangerous if going too fast.

It is another trail that goes along the Grand River. I have seen many birds on this trail.

Great trail, although it could use a better connection on the Waterloo side (perhaps a multiuse path to Northfield?)

Came us to visit the Wise Old Oak tree. It's a beautiful trail, depending on your route you walk along the river and come across many picture worthy views. The tree shows up abruptly and it didn't disappoint. Large and Magnificent. The trail is relatively easy to tread, it was a bit wet all around so if you can, wear something that can bear the puddles and dirt. I wore my gym shoes and while it didn't impair my hike, my shoes looked pretty dirty at the end of it. Also, the parking" is basically the shoulder along the road right across from the trail. We drove around University ave wondering about parking but that is really it. There isn't a parking sign so you look for the shoulder across the HVT or look for other cars that may have parked here. Want to be back in summer for a picnic by the water."

Great hike from University Ave. to St. Jacobs totaling about 10Km round trip. It's a true gem of a trail following through farmers farmers fields and pastures with some great scenes along the Conestogo river. Does tend to be a bit busy at times but it's not problematic. The Health Valley Trail (HVT) is part of the Avon Trail stretching from St. Marys to Conestogo totaling about 121Km through similar scenery to that of the HVT.
