Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Thunder Bay

Our room is very nice and very clean. The check in is seamless and the Front Desk Agents are very friendly. If you're doing cross country driving and have to stop over in Thunder Bay, I highly recommend this property. The rate is very reasonable for what you get. It's self park and we're lucky to be able to park our car just outside our room, we had a view of our car although out. The area is very safe and they have security as well. No room service for dinner though. The breakfast area is spacious for a 3star hotel, the breakfast is the usual continental breakfast, basic but decent and we're happy with it.

Hotel is great, but making a reservation is a process. I have called twice, and both times, the receptionist struggled with letters and I had to have them to repeat my email address 3-4 times using the phonetic alphabet, this is a skill you should have if you are taking customer information (-1). Also, they got a new call and that became the priority, I was put last in line, terrible customer service (-1). The free breakfast is great (+2).

The staff was very helpful, friendly, and pleasant; I couldn't expect more from them. Room cleaning is available upon request. Tea and coffee are available 24 hours a day. Shuttle service is also available. The hot breakfast is good, and a variety of things are rotated throughout the week.

Our stay here was one of the most expensive and frustrating and disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. My CAA discount was not honoured, and upon check-in we were not made aware of any of the particularities of how this hotel is run. I tried to call the front desk 2 times this morning to find out about the breakfast being served. No one answered. When we got down there it was over. 10am. When I inquired about the calls I made I was instructed that I should have pressed zero first for it to work. Which was not indicated to me or anywhere on the phones or in the room. So when I went upstairs I tried the front desk WITHOUT pressing zero and it worked. We’re they lying? What is up with this place. They slid my bill under the door while we were sleeping. What if we had a problem or wanted to stay. Also, the doors to the building lock at night, which they do not tell you. So make sure you have your key card. I Will not stay here again. It’s definitely not worth $270 a night.

Don’t stay here!!!!! Not pet friendly!!!Was turned away because I didn’t have the paperwork on me for my pet. Only Hampton Inn I’ve ever stay at that has turned me away. Had to scramble to find a new hotel. Was was forced to pick a run down hotel where I didn’t feel safe or comfortable. Very upset and disappointed! Shame on you.

Polite and helpful staff. Everything was really clean and overall this hotel location was exceeding our expectations. Breakfast was on point, just what we all need in the morning - they even have whipped cream for the waffles!However entry for parking is not clear, it's not the same as the one shown on Google maps, it got us confused for quite some time.

I frequently travel to Thunder Bay Ontario for work. I have consistently chosen the Hampton Inn and Suites since it opened. Great staff, great location and a solid brand to back it all up! Did I mention the great staff?

Hotel is pretty good. Felt a little overpriced for the services included but not too bad.Approach is a little tricky and entrance is easy to miss if you are not careful.View of the mountain is great.Cleanliness is up to mark.Pool is OK. Felt that the water doesn’t circulate as quickly as it should and chlorine levels felt too high.

Treated very well for my stay other than having to checkout then back in again the same day because of a mix-up with my booking. It was a minor inconvenience at most. Otherwise it was a great stay. It's super close to the airport and there is a Walmart, Dollarama, Tim's and Starbucks super close. You can't go wrong with the location.

Rooms were very nice and very clean. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was pretty good. I really enjoyed my stay and would book another Hampton in the future.
