Ian and his collection are outstanding members of the industry. His decades of knowledge makes his collection absolutely comprehensive of vintage fashion and design, and he is always an utter pleasure to deal with when I visit several times each year,. I would, and frequently do, recommend him for any aspect whatsoever of working with vintage fashion.

Thank you for looking at my vintage closet! The list I had prepared made the process easy and straightforward. (there was LOT to go through!) Giving new life to old clothing is a wonderful thing. I know many of the items were in need of repairs, so happy to have found someone willing to invest their time and money to do it properly and preserve these historical nuggets. I'm truly happy these are going to have many more years of use, and not ending up in a landfill.thanks

I first met Ian Drummond when he had a vintage clothing store on Queen Street in Toronto before he expanded his business into supplying the film industry. He is a highly regarded and respected dealer at almost every vintage clothing sale in Toronto and has done them for decades, long before on-line sales were another option. Having both sold to and bought from him over the years I have always found him to be respectful, knowledgable and generous in sharing his vast experience in knowing materials, condition, care, identification plus age, and current market value of items. Like anything in the antiques or vintage market, prices and value change all the time, and I have always found him to be fair in buying from me knowing how much he is willing to do in cleaning, repairing and restoring garments for use again. As a seller of used clothing to a dealer you cannot expect to get more than retail for an item without taking into account their overhead involved in running a business or the investment it takes in each piece for them to continue being of use. I look forward to seeing him at the vintage sales and look for whatever recent finds he has discovered!

Estates beware.Ian Drummond visited my late mother's home. She had many designer clothes from the 1940s - 1990s. Mostly expensive designer clothes with many items from New York, Montreal and Boston. He went through literally thousands of items picking the best of vintage clothing and textiles including Ralph Lauren scarves, brand new Italian leather gloves (40 Euros each), cut velvet silk shawl, silk embroidered piano shawl, a paisley shawl (my mother paid $950 for this item alone), vintage hats from New York and Montreal, vintage purses, brand new designer coats with prices tags, etc. When he told us that he did not do a running total but preferred to make an offer at the end, we should have twigged that we were about to get taken. At the end of 3 hrs, he offered a low ball price for hundreds of items. Each piece getting cents on the dollar. I got him to come up by $100. Fortunately, my sister had pulled the Hermes scarves and shawl. I am deeply angered that we waited a month for a visit only to be ripped off.If you sell to this company, you should insist upon a running total. Far better to bring selected items to the store. During the visit, Mr. Drummond peered around the house and kept asking what plans we had for the vintage clothes as though we had no other alternative than dealing with him.I would never recommend this company to any estate nor would I wish to deal with this company ever again. When you hose people as part of your business model, it's unprincipled. We may as well have donated everything to the Salvation Army. At least, such a donation would benefit the community.
