Terrible cell phone coverage in the Victoria and Sidney area. I tried to resolve the issue with Shaw over a number of months and got nothing but false promises. Avoid this company if at all possible and don't get swayed by the low cost. If the service is terrible, you are wasting your money and in the end, will cost you more having to switch to a decent provider.

Absolutely disappointed have been with shaw cable and internet for ever have always been happy. Have been waiting for the mobile side to get going so everything could be from one spot. I had been hearing alot of bad things about Shaw's mobile service. So did my own research found it had not much different ratings then everyone else so decided to give them a chance. What I was not expecting was the absolute worst costumer service I've ever had. The staff have no idea of the products they have available. They were rude. They were arrogant. They were grumpy. They were very poorly trained I really don't blame the staff I blame shaw for so poorly setting up this system. The staff did not in anyway have the resources they need. I will have no choice but to stay with Telus for another two years. Very disappointed I feel they set the mobile side up just to be more attractive to a company like Rogers to want to take them over.

Garbage cell service! We have been with Shaw for now 6 months and the cell service is terrible! Constantly going between lte and 3g all day long! Everyone around me never has bad cell service and I am right beside them and I have close to no bars! Most of the time I have to restart my phone or turn off and on the plane mode to get back to lte! Also we called and shaw did nothing, basically said that there is nothing they can do about it! Didnt even offer to give us discount due to the poor service we have had, after they promised us service was great! Also they never told us that when out of province you only have 4g of data like what the hell! So yea terrible wouldn't recommend Shaw mobile ever to anyone!

Commission sales people lie and say phones are not compatible and will drop calls, and make you buy a device from them. Shaw's own website shows full compatibility across every band offered by Shaw.

I received such great service the staff went out of their way to help me. I ended up paying less on my cell phone plan and got a excellent top of the line phone !

SUPER DISAPPOINTING!!! I thought I did my homework - even chatted with. Shaw customer rep for quite a while and explained what I wanted to do (switch over three phones, purchase a new phone and transfer one of the phones to the other) all onto the Get a Gig plan. After lots of information, the service rep told me I could make an appointment at the retail shop (not true) to get this done. It sounded like a fantastic deal. So good, I was even willing to pay out the contract remaining on one of our phones. So, (without an appointment) I was all prepared, gathered up my teens and our phones and took time off work to avoid crowds.Got there, only to find that two of our phones were not compatible with their system, and the third would only “half work”. (Their words - didn’t have all the same bands that Shaw uses, apparently.). None of this was apparent from the site or the compatibility chart (or mentioned by the rep I talked to). Then, when I was still willing to pursue at least one new phone (and potentially two), it turns out that the good prices offered are only available with the $45 plan. (And are the same “deal” being offered by other carriers if you don’t get this plan). Again, not apparent from the site and definitely not mentioned by the rep I chatted with. So at the end of the day, I was really only left with the option to purchase three new phones (when I only wanted one), only get a good price if I paid for the plan I didn’t want, pay a higher monthly fee than I currently pay, and also pay the fee to get out of my contract. Not such a fantastic deal after all.I thought that maybe Shaw was doing it’s best to make up for the extremely high internet rates I pay (with pretty spotty wifi), and that as a result I might consider staying with Shaw beyond my next contract. I guess I’ll be re-evaluating. It’s funny - when I was chatting with the rep, I said “this sounds too good to be true”. How prophetic!

I would summarize my experience with Shaw Mobile as below average customer service with horrendous coverage for both mobile phone and data.I was brought to Shaw Mobile by the sweet siren of a cheaper plan. Quickly found out I was dropping calls whenever driving and forget about ever having reliable data when out and about. Stayed with them for 2 months and couldn’t take it any more so took 4 plans to another provider.

The gentleman who activated my prepaid service was friendly and polite and seemed to work quickly (the entire process took a bit longer than I think it should have - lots of steps - but that’s not his fault). I’ve only had the service for a few hrs but so far so good, I guess.

Shaw mobile service is terrible. Their towers won't work with Huawei phones. I had to buy a different phone. Even with my new pixel 5, service in many areas of Langford is very spotty at best. Without my WiFi, I have trouble making and receiving calls where I live near Bear Mountain. Until they improve their coverage, I suggest another carrier.

Heard about free sim card for existing cell phones so husband went on site and using chat asked about the cards. The person on the other end at Shaw managed to completely disconnect our Internet and home phone. Hubby had to use his work phone and spent nearly two hours on the phone before we had our service back. Thank heavens there was no emergency during this time. And now the free sim cards have arrived and because the Shaw guy made a mistake with hubbies email address, we can't get the sim cards activated, another two hours wasted so far.......Shaw you suck.
