I've been a patient with Abbotsford midwifery twice - with my daughter in 2017 and with my son in 2019. My daughter was a pretty standard hospital delivery, and I was lucky to have Sharon Barber as my midwife for that. She was professional, kind, capable, efficient and everything that I could want. I was impressed at how smoothly she worked with the ARH nurses and also very briefly with an OB. My son was born quickly and unexpectedly at home, and Sharon and Heather were fantastic during the whole process. They really put me and my husband at ease with their ability and calmness, and handled everything very well. I've always found that they answer any questions that I might have with care, and provide me with lots of information on any topic surrounding birth. Kyla at the front desk has always been very friendly & helpful as well. I am very thankful to have had such great midwives, and I plan/hope to be back some day!

I cannot rave enough about Sharon and Joy! I was accepted into Midwifery care in December 2020 in anticipation of a VBAC in June 2021. Sharon was very welcoming when I came into care. She was able to address my concerns as I prepared for my VBAC. As I prepared for my first labour, both Sharon and Joy helped me navigate what to expect when labour began — I was given information about different pain medications and information about the Covid vaccine. I felt very informed going into labour and delivery. I went into labour on Canada Day and delivered my 2nd baby girl — I was able to have a success vaginal delivery thanks to Sharon and the nurses at Abbotsford Hospital. I would encourage any mother wanting to have a VBAC to come see Sharon here! The support I had throughout my pregnancy and delivery was exceptional. If I have more babies, I’ll definitely be coming back to Abbotsford Midwifery! Thank you Sharon for this very empowering birth experience!

Our little family really appreciates the Abbotsford Midwifery team, we've had two planned home births and one hospital birth under their care and they feel like family. Having our kids welcome and present at our home births has been so especially special, the midwives are wonderful with them. We're so grateful for the wisdom of Sharon, Susan and Heather. And I love the mama/daughter team of Sharon and Kyla :)

This was my first pregnancy with the ladies at Abbotsford Midwifery. We had a hospital delivery in Abbotsford as there were some risk factors this time around. It was baby #5 for my husband and I (the first two pregnancies were with doctors in hospital, and 3&4 were home births with Calgary midwives).Sharon, Susan, and Heather are warm, genuine, caring women and they probably have the most experience in the area. Kyla at the front desk is wonderful as well. I never felt rushed at any of my appointments - even when I showed up and it turned out that I wasn't actually on the schedule after all. The midwives were always available on the pager when I had concerns that couldn't wait for the next appointment or the next business day." We had more than one curve-ball this time around and these ladies were always knowledgeable

Highly recommend the Abbotsford Midwifery Group! Such a caring and knowledgeable staff! I always felt so cared for at each visit and never felt rushed. My pregnancy ended up being considered high risk because of a pre-existing health condition and they were with me every step of the way! They continued to see me for appointments even though I had to be referred to an OBGYN. I felt extremely lucky to be under their care at the same time and they were always available to take any of my questions. I ended up having to have a C-section but one of the midwives, Sharon, was there the entire time and her and her amazing staff continued to offer support post pregnancy. I also found the home visits after the birth extremely helpful and both my husband and I felt very supported! Thank You, Abbotsford Midwifery for everything! Definitely will be back for my next pregnancy!

Very supportive team with lots of resources to support a healthy pregnancy and provide natural solutions to problems.Their naturopath was able to help with my indigestion. She also had lots of great information. Was very educational seeing her, it opened my eyes to the nutrients I was lacking. Since then I included these in my diet and feel a lot better!The chiropractor caught potential diastasis recti really early and determined there was some big no no’s I was doing that contribute to this and gave me great instructions on how to prevent it. She has also given me great advice about posture that creates more space for my baby. It’s good to check your alignment through pregnancy.I am yet to see the RMT to relieve my aches and pains!All the midwives have been respectful, patient and supportive. They are open to my questions and wishes. I am confident about my upcoming birth.

I have had all three of my babies with Sharon's practice. Funny enough she wasn't at any of my births but the midwifes she partnered with were equally as fantastic and walked with me every step of the way through all three of my very different births. I also have seen Kathy King for many years for acupuncture prenatally and in post-partum, and would highly recommend her!

My husband and I were honoured to have Sharon Barber as our midwife for both of our boys. The level of knowledge and care by Sharon and her staff was excellent. I looked forward to my appointments and never left feeling like any questions didn’t go unanswered. Both my deliveries in a hospital setting went well with no complications. Sharon was by our side the whole time making sure everything went smoothly and in a calm manner. Even after the birth of my boys , the care didn’t stop - I had home visits to make sure our baby and a new mom were off on the right track with breastfeeding tips and checkups on our little ones to make sure they were happy and healthy. Sharon and her staff ensure to provide the utmost care to all their patients. I reccomend Abbotsford Midwifery Group to everyone I know seeking pregnancy care ❤️

Sharon from Abbotsford Midwifery delivered both of my babies. I found them to be very accommodating: offering home visits when needed due to intense morning sickness, taking me on as a client around week 35 with my first child (we moved to Abbotsford and needed a local care provider), and offering lots of suggestions for my own unique body and circumstances. Heather is so knowledgeable. I saw her for most of my visits leading up to baby's birth and she was very empathetic and experienced. Sharon was calm and encouraging during the births, letting me know what stage of labour I was at, what would come next, and making helpful suggestions. I highly recommend these ladies! They also have an acupuncturist (Kathy is great!) and ladies who do pre-natal massage. My massage with Trina was awesome.
