My partner and I had a very unfortunate and unpleasant experience here. After our first night, the next day our electric pellet stove malfunctioned and filled our yurt with smoke to the point where we could not stay in the yurt for the duration of our stay. The owner offered no assistance or proper instructions when we called (we were panicking as we had no idea what was going on), we were told to “turn the fan on, clean it out and open a window”, there was nothing provided to clean out the stove and there was no button for a fan at all? It made no sense and did not fix anything. The only instructions regarding the stove given to us prior to this issue was “to add pellets a couple times a day”. It was a very dangerous situation, as we slept up in the loft where the smoke was the worst. There were only 2 small windows to vent the yurt which did not do anything. The owner the proceeded to tell me that “I can leave but we don’t offer refunds”. I was shocked at the disregard, lack of concern and care for their guests and their safety. I will not be returning due to this very scary experience.

Have stayed here twice, once in December 2019, again this year in early September. Absolutely wonderful both times. The winter months were cozy and the yurts stayed warm with the wood burning stove (they provide the wood for this). The yurts came equipped with everything you would need, pots, pans, cups, cooking tops (outdoor camp grill as well as a propane powered stove in a common, roofed area). Inside the yurts were clean, comfy and well kept, during our September stay we especially noticed the effort to keep everything clean and safe during the pandemic. Trails are beautiful and well kept allowing for a scenic, enjoyable views. Can't recommend this place enough.

8 girlfriends had a long weekend getaway and loved the MeeNahKee Yurt! We would recommend bringing tongs and your own sharp chopping knife but otherwise the space had literally everything you could need! We enjoyed the paddle boards and a float during the day, a sauna once it cooled off, the outdoor space was gorgeous and the accommodations comfortably housed everyone wonderfully. We will be back annually for many years to come :) easy to find and definitely a dog / family friendly space!

Lots of trails to check out, we didn't have enough time with the rainy weather. We chose to stay at the blueberry on the trial and had a great time. Would have rather stayed where the other yurts are due to the other areas and quality of the yurts in the common space.Giving 4 stars due to the yurt needing a few repairs to some of the chairs, picnic table and small leak and not the stay itself.

Such a wonderful place. Very clean and well maintained, with a lot of trails for all levels of hikers. We have stayed here in both winter and summer and loved both times!!

Comfortable, amazing winter getaway! The big Yurt is ideal for a big group, lots of bathrooms (4!) and bedrooms. Yurt is a bit of a misnomer - it's a very comfortable cabin with running water, wifi, and electricity. Some of our group had stayed in the smaller yurts on other occasions and also enjoyed it. Ski trails, hiking trail, well set up kitchen, and wood burning saunas. So much fun!

Ok so this place may not be everyones cup of tea, but for me it was a pretty sweet quaint romantic getaway...The lakeside yurt is pretty much a bedroom. Anyone taller than 6ft may have to duck while walking around. The bed is soo comfy! There's a small counter for food prep but if your 6ft or taller you'd probably prefer to prep outside. There is no power at this yurt at all. The deck is pretty awesome tho. Small & quaint, but enough for two people. Goes just far enough out to the water so it feels you're overlooking it. Best to bring your own chairs to sit out on, as the chairs are small hardwood ones & wouldn't be comfy to sit on for the day or whatnot. The lake is very quaint, but has some nice wildlife to watch for... snapping turtles, beavers, fish & eagles. There is only an outhouse & no showers so be prepared. Outhouse is kept clean tho, so that's nice. Its not for everyone that's for sure. But if you want a very small place to getaway to & spend some quality time with someone close this is your place to be. However, note you are on Canadian Shield so there are rock declines/inclines to get to the yurt which may be difficult for some to pack gear in. Also bring solar lights so you can light the way to the outhouse & down to the fire pit. Those who maybe aren't too steady on their feet shouldn't stay in this yurt.

I came here on the recommendations of friends, The scenery and nature here are breathtaking if you can tolerate trains and planes coming past every 20 minutes, all day and night. The hiking trails were not bike accessible as described online. Our yurts solar powered lights did not work, we were not provided a key to lock our yurt, and the propane fuelled barbecues all leaked a frightening amount. The yurt deck, communal screen room, shower and outhouse were in need of substantial repairs/ maintenance. My partner and I agree that we would only come back if we came in a large group and rented one of the better maintained larger yurts.

Would not recommend booking during pandemic! My girlfriend thought it would be a nice adventure for us back in January to get away. She booked online and within hours of booking the Ontario Government restricted travel from out of province. Shortly after we got notice they took the money. She emailed to cancel and they refused to fully refund us stating we can reschedule to come back once it is safe. Their weekends were completely booked up for months in advance. They kept $169.50 due to the “short notice cancellation policy unless roads are closed” and can use it as a credit for spring or summer. Travel ban restricted road travel! She had reached out to the better Business bureau and they tried repeatedly to get in touch with the owners. I am a small business owner who has been effected by this pandemic just as much as I own a gym. Times are tough. But ripping people off is low. There is no way we can reschedule and when things open back up we will be busy as well with our own business.
