My 2 year old daughter was quoted $650 at the optician that we got her prescription. We were also unknowingly going to get a pair that wasn’t appropriate for her face or age.I’m so thankful someone recommended Whitworth to us. Sandra took great care and shared so much knowledge with us that made both, me and my shy 2yo feel so comfortable and at ease. She even made getting the pupillary distance test a snap.Not to mention my toddler’s glasses cost significantly less, at a reasonable $250.Could not be happier with our experience.

I have been a client of Whitworth Opticians for over 20 years. Other opticians were unable to make my complicated prescription and Whitworth has always made them flawlessly. The owner is kind, knowledgeable, and works wonders to make my lenses as thin as possible. She is very skilled at guiding her clients to choose the perfect frames for their face. I recently started bringing my child to her as well and she has made my very young child’s glasses wonderfully. I am thankful to have found an optician that meets the needs of myself and my child and that I trust completely with my eyesight.

Whitworth Opticians was recommended to us as THE place to go if you’ve got a kid needing glasses, and Sandra did not disappoint! Our son got glasses at age 2.5 and Sandra made some excellent recommendations for frames and lenses that would be suited to his age (indestructible frames, smoothed edges on the lenses), and has thought of everything. We just picked up a new pair for our now 4 year old and she’s been amazing to work with each and every time we have been in her shop. Highly recommend!

We have been going to Whitworth Opticians for about 10 years and have only good things to say about them. The are very accommodating, flexible and very understanding. They have always adjusted our frames no matter the situation. Whitworth Opticians have been in business for many years and we keep going back because of their service and how friendly they are. I would highly recommend anyone looking for an optician in Winnipeg or someone who specializes in eye-ware for infants.

I was happy with the service and staff but very dissatisfied with the glasses, which were for a preschooler. The owner is very helpful and good with kids. However, despite supposedly having a good lens coating, the glasses were showing scratches within two weeks and completely destroyed in about a month. (They are completely occluded, the kid can't see through them anymore.) They offer no scratch warranty and told me I would have to pay full price for a replacement. So I'm now buying new lenses, but I'll go somewhere else that offers a scratch warranty or a product that can better stand up to kids' wear and tear.

Our 4 year old daughter has been wearing glasses for almost two years. The staff and service at Whitworth is unparalleled. In my opinion they have the best selection for children’s glasses in the city and are always quick to address any repairs or replacements needed. My daughter’s prescription has changed several times over the year and ordering new lenses has always been quick and painless.I recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for children’s eyewear. I found Whitworth opticians 14 years ago when I found out my six month old needed glasses. I had no idea what I would be getting into, but walking in and being greeted with a big hello and warm smile made me feel like I was in the right place. The fit and lens prescription was top notch. The lenses were thick for my little guy and they made it look like he wasn’t even wearing glasses!! They go above and beyond I now have 2 in glasses and won’t go anywhere else:)

I have been a client of Whitworth Opticians for 18 years. My daughter had an eye turn at age 1 and needed glasses as part of her 'cure'. We were sent to Whitworth Opticians, 'the best in the city' as far as dealing with more difficult cases, and even dealing with infants for glasses. I now have two children who have been under their care for almost 2 decades, as well as myself. Wouldn't consider ever going anywhere else. Customer service and expertise is solid. Especially if you need help with specialties as far as glasses and care, this is the place!

We support an adult with intellectual disabilities and an extremely complex eye prescription and we have had incredible, accurate service here. Many mainstream opticians can’t meet the prescription needed, but these people get it right the first time! And great warranty!

Peter was amazing, Sandra took over and ran the business amazingly as well. We’ve known her for thirteen years, she’s very professional and also sweet. Recommend to visit her if you need glasses, they have beautiful frame selections to choose from :)
