John and Erin are warm and sweet owners who welcomed us to a tour of their roasting facility behind the storefront in Bear River. They have put thought and intention into every picture and word on each bag! They use Sissiboo Coffee Roaster Cafe as a location to bring the community together, and in doing so have become a hub of the town. At then end of our time with John and Erin, we left feeling honored to have glimpsed into the life of Bear River. Oh, and the coffee? Fantastic.

We were delighted to find such an amazing little cafe in Anapolis Royal. The lattes were delicious and flavourful, and you have the option of adding a homemade flavor shot. During our trip we went back every day and the quality was consistent - quality roast, excellent pulls, delicious flavour (and I'm not usually one for adding flavouring to my lattes, but I couldn't pass up the caramel or the cinnamon. I'm glad I didn't because they're awesome). Every time we get up to AR I'll make a point of stopping here.

Frequent customer that always enjoys the creative menu items and the outdoor specials board. Watching the sun set over the water at the window bar is magical. Perfect little spot that encapsulates the town itself.

Let's start with the Spicy Hot Chocolate that was actually spicy. Rich, creamy, chocolatey, but with a delicious bite of spicy heat. Not too sweet, just a perfect blend.Next, the yummy gluten-free Sunsquares, made with sunflower seeds, butter, honey and rice flour. Don't be put off by the gluten-free, these treats are simple and elegant you can taste the butter. It has to be said my daughter tasted a slightly bitter aftertaste but all I found was sweet and rich.The cafe offers their own roasted beans in the full range of coffee-based beverages and high end teas. The atmosphere is clean and bright with a beautiful tin ceiling.Treat yourself next time you're in Annapolis Royal. You won't be disappointed.

I don't really know what to say. The beverages were good, not exceptional, but good, which is fine. The barrista didn't seem to be thrilled to have to prepare anything.But the worst? The elderly gentleman clearing tables SPIT ON THE TABLE and used his own gob of saliva to scour the table next to ours. Yes, that's what I said...USED HIS SPIT TO WASH THE TABLE. I wish I hadn't seen it, but I did.I don't think I'll go back. Sorry Sissaboo. But you should invest in some proper cleaning products.

It was such a good surprise to find a coffee shop with a good decor and nice vibe in microtown like this.However, that's it.Croissant was dry and plain taste.Brewed coffee (medium roast) was underextracted, no aroma, no taste.Coffee shop charges you as a good speciality coffee shop in Toronto, but you don't get the same.I would recommend to owners to switch to speciality coffee, then it will be an amazing experience.
