Great spot, came here for dinner on Sunday night. Super quiet (but probably cause the location). The service was fantastic! The ceviche was amazing, was made right in front of us. The steak was good too, highly recommend it! The beet salad was my absolute favorite. Will definitely be coming back here. Thank you!

I used to go to Charbar regularly for dinner and roof top bar, since Covid, I have not been there forever. I visited for brunch on the other day and their food and service were top notch! My friend got double patty burger and she loved it, we also had pineapple mimosa and it was delicious! My Benny was ok, I found ham was too salty and sauce was really heavy. They use biscuits as base so it all crumbled and mixed up with sauce, which was too rich for my taste. The interior is one of my favorite in Calgary, there is Phil and Sebastian & Side walk citizen in the same beautiful building. I recommend everyone to visit there.

Empanas were too over baked for my taste, almost burned the dough.Burger was just ok,a bit dry, fries were crispy and hot: perfect.Service was slow, about 25 min to get our food. Waitress was kind and friendly.

Went for husband's birthday and had a lovely meal. He was so happy with the steak and they cook the fries with beef tallow which is amazing. I had the fish (yes at a steakhouse) and it was really good. Our waiter (Mark) was the right level of attentive and hilarious. Overall we will be back for another special occasion for sure!

The setting, attention to detail, and service of this place was really nice. However, the food was meh. Presentation was there, the first bite of everything was good but things would go downhill when we continued to eat. The burger was 3.5 inches tall making it look like it had potential to be an amazing burger, but it lacked flavour the only thing we tasted was avocado and the aged cheese. The first fry that came with the burger was delicious but when we had more we started to feel a little funky because they left a strange coating feeling around our mouths, I think they were soaked in butter or something. The first bite of the traditional pizza was so good but as we kept eating it we had to drink more and more water because it was so salty, the amount of cheese was also overwhelming. Wish they put some of the salt from the pizza into the burger. The empanadas were empanadas nothing too special but were probably my favourite out of the things we ordered. We didn't order their signature meat dishes, but the table next to us did and I'm not going to lie the meat didn't look that good (dry). That being said, food did come out quickly and was warm.

Tried their brunch and dinner menu on a same day! For brunch, I got the Double Patty Gaucho Burger and man it was heavy and sumptuous! Beef patty tasted really good, loaded with mozza and guacamole! My partner ordered Avocado toast and she said it was great too! Their avo toast had a chimichuri drizzle that adds flavour to the overall experience.For dinner, we tried their NY striploin steak (medium well), crispy calamari salad and torta rogel for dessert. Their steak was perfectly grilled and charred! We added chimichuri on the side to feel the real Argentinian meat experience. Crispy calamari salad was good too, with equal ratio of meat and greens. I think the best plate we had at Charbar was the Torta Rogel dessert cake. It’s a layer of wafer, dulce de leche and chocolate sauce. You should definitely try it! Staff were awesome and gave us a really good table service.The only issue we had was the SEAT CUSHION. We’ve read several reviews of this place and most of them complained of the very poor seat cushion. Be careful of seating down fast because it will give you a feeling of ‘fall’ on the floor. We observed other guests too and they all had the face of surprise when they sat on this cushion.I initially thought of giving them 4 Stars because of the cushion. But the food experience was really great that we decided to give them 5. Hopefully they change their seats soon cause they will get a lot of bad reviews from impatient and grumpy patrons.

Loved the ambiance, the atmosphere and the feel of this place. You can feel a sense of history twisted with a modern flair. The food was delicious and divine! The waiter was the best part of this experience, and a total sweetheart! Very attentive, anticipated our needs, made suggestions and is obviously an asset for this business. We wandered upstairs to the roof top patio and was pleased with the view and set up. The strawberry cocktail was a little too sweet and needs larger straws as the strawberry mixture gets lodged at the bottom of the straws. One thing that hindered our stay was the fruit flies that landed in both our drinks. We plucked them out and continued to enjoy the cold crisp beverages. We will definitely be back.

Went here for a casual bite and drinks with friends. The roof top was perfect for a summer evening and has great views along the river.The crab dip was amazing, the ceviche was okay, there were some really huge pieces in it, and more seasoned rather than a very fresh seafood taste. The what we eat pizza was awesome! Would get it and the crab dip again for sure.Cocktails were pretty good, but the price point on them was very high for what they were.
