A cafe that roast their own coffee in-house, with an assortment of blends to suit each patrons choice of brew... found in the lovely town of Port Hope. Espresso anyone? There's a variety of foods choice, all-day breakfast sandwiches, bowls, sourdough breads, and baked goods that'll beg to question - when is my next visit to Happenstance?" You won't be disappointed. We ordered our corporate holiday gift baskets from Happenstance and they were amazing! Happenstance, at my request, baked loaves of turkey-shaped bread, which was perfect for the holidays. They are super pleasant to deal with, accommodating, the baskets were a great value. Thank you very much!

Stopped in at Happenstance Bakery in Port Hope to order bread and the amazing smells in this shop convinced me to order a sandwich for a late lunch. It was undoubtedly the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Chicken and roasted vegetables on freshly baked bread. I literally wolfed it down. My poor cats got nothing. I will be returning often!

We live in Toronto but we only buy our bread from Happenstance…it is literally worth the drive to stock up on everything and it freezes beautifully to keep us going between visits. No bakery in Toronto has come close to the flavour and texture of their sourdough varieties. Sandwiches are the best too, especially the turkey pesto grilled cheese.

Drinks are not bad, but nothing special. Food and desserts are pretty good but on the pricey side . The woman who has glasses and tattoos needs some customer service lessons she seems pist off most days.

Best sourdough bread around! Muffins are great, sandwiches are delicious and coffee is always made fresh. The staff is always happy to see you and will go the extra mile to make sure you're taken care of!
