It’s my first time here, the food is AMAZING! The oyster motoyaki is perfectly seasoned, and Aburi sushi is delicious, quality food with reasonable price!

Best quality sashimi and Japanese bbq in Richmond!! This place has become my favourite Japanese restaurant in town! Great food, great service and great environment!

Excellent sushi. Love the atmosphere. Late operation hours are great when you’re waiting for a delayed flight :) service was very friendly but less attentive at night, maybe because it was almost closing time.

It is a cozy little restaurant with beautiful food and friendly people. Feels like back in Kyoto again.

Quite an expansive menu including sashimi, sushi, baked items, and robata. The presentation is nice and the plating is great. The sushi set however tasted quite average and the shrimp was really dry and the fish was alright but not the freshest and comparable to fast food sushi. The chawanmushi was good. The oyster and scallop motoyaki were good too and of a nice large size. The highlight of the evening was the marinated baby octopus which were tender and flavourful. The robata tasted average, good, but nothing stood out. The grilled black cod was a bit oversalted. Overall still a good meal, alright, a bit expensive for the quality you get in return though.

Their sashimi is so fresh and yummy. Good chef and wine. Worth the money.

Totally not recommended. The place is a money pit, way overpriced for the small portions and quality similar to what you can find at the supermarkets. Pretty sure long positive reviews here are from friends and acquaintances but not real customers standpoint. This place would be a good late night dining if it wasn’t for their ridiculous price.

Great place for late night dinner, I’m very picky when it comes to Sashimi! their sashimi is very fresh. Fried chicken is juicy and crispy chicken skin is flavorful. The place is also quite clean, good hygiene.

Change of owners. Tiny chirashi don that cost $30 bucks. The bow was the size of a miso soup bowl, sashimi was thin and only 7 pcs. Size of an appetizers size from other restaurants. Fish was just normal like tuna, salmon, ebi, tai, egg , clam and bit of chop scallop, nothing special or expensive. The other food were so-so. Won't be coming back.

Pretty cool place! Feels pretty homey. Staff are friendly, and we had a bunch of nice recommendations from (who I presume to be) the owner! He was very nice and funny. The menu has no pictures, so it could be pretty daunting for those who don’t frequent Japanese places. They put wasabi in the nigiri, which is interesting for a restaurant in Richmond and not in Japan hahahaWe ordered quite a few things, and the total came around to $90 for two people. A bit on the pricier side, but nothing crazy. If looking for Japanese food in Richmond, I would recommend checking Koto Izakaya if in the area.
