Second time here. I would go to take someone who hasn’t tried this type of Japanese dish - tempura on rice. The food is delicious, only a little overpriced. I recommend best seller over the chefs special. Salad was good though I couldn’t finish it. Chicken wings was pretty spicy. Staff are pleasant and service efficient. Only thing I don’t like is the beeping sound that goes off - assuming that’s the kitchen notifying staff food is ready.

I've heard of this restaurant many times and was invited to come. When I did, the interior was much better than I was expecting. However, my excitement pretty much ended not long after. The staff were nice, some of them were Japanese, which I knew this restaurant must be pretty decently known to them. The food was soooo expensive though... If was pretty much $20 for a bowl of rice with tempura. I understand it's a novelty and this company has been branded a luxury, but with the portion size and the quality, it seems a bit too much. Even the chicken wings (same portion) is half the price. The drinks and dessert are also sadly expensive. They're nice, but I don't think it's worth the high price tag. You can get a appetizer for those prices Even the drinks are highly marked. $3 for a pop can? Wow.At least they are cheaper than Kanneko Hannosuke in the Brentwood food court. I will try it out and change this review if I'm wrong.Despite everything I said, I would still come back... just not often. It's a novelty, and even with the high price, they do a good job on everything else (presentation, customer service, ambience)

I very very highly recommend this place, it honestly has some of the best tempura I’ve tasted around here! They have a very wide mix of options, from seafood to pork, and all have very good flavours and seasoning. Though most of all, their Hokkaido milk tea is top notch, some of the best Hokkaido milk tea there is in Burnaby, I highly recommend it :)

We used to love this place but aren’t sure if it’s their food or our taste that is changed. Their fried batter doesn’t taste as crispy as it should be and weren’t really satisfied with the taste overall. Portion size is just ok. Price feels little steep for the quality and portion size now. We will come back in the future and re-evaluate but can’t deny our recent couple of visits were bit of let down.

If you like tempura, you will love it! Other dishes are great as well. But don’t forget to try Matcha ice cream, it’s the best. Cheese cake ice cream is also good.

Saturday lunch at Tendon Kohaku Brentwood. Seated in the back with a view of Lougheed Hwy. The servers were very polite and helpful. We ordered the Anago Tendon and Sashimi Aimori Tendon with Hokkaido milk tea. Miso soup is salty and you can taste the bean paste. The Anogo Tendon had a huge piece of eel and other tempura pieces. I thought the batter could have been better, tasted thick and heavy not light and airy. The Sashimi Tendon was a bit off too. Tasted weird with hot tempera on top of raw Sashimi pieces. Just didn't taste right. Thankfully, the Hokkaido milk tea washed all the greasy taste down. Price was on the higher side for lunch. Around $30/pp.

Read lots of reviews about this restaurant. This place looks like a Japanese gift shop when you walk in. Very bright, clean, and very sorted. We sat at the counter looking directly at the open kitchen. Very clean, cooks were wearing proper attire. We ordered their signature dish. Very nice presentation, tasty too. Will definitely come back. One side note, they have separate unisex bathrooms, very thoughtful during this new normal. However, the counter height chairs were very uncomfortable. Oh well....eat quickly.

Good flavours - they didn’t put as much sauce on the rice on this visit as they usually do. Solid drinks. The wings were nice as well. We ordered mainly the sashimi tendon combo in both spicy and regular. Good tempura batter.
