Auberge Lakeview Inn
Great vintage hotel. We had a nice vintage room, including the bed. Hard as a rock. While there was a Roku TV, the internet was so poor that it was useless. Yes, the bar was open". Yet when we went to it both nights

A vintage Victorian hotel if you like to stay at historic hotels. The owner took great care to renovate the entire hotel to its original cachet a few years ago. Since it is a historic building, there is no elevator for the bedrooms all located on the second floor. There are two kinds of bedroom, small ones, like in the olden days, and large ones. The inn is called Lakeview since its inception more than 100 years ago, but there is no view of the Brome Lake. You are at a walking distance from picturesque downtown Lac Brome (formerly named Knowlton), a famous tourist village. There is a long nature trail near the hotel (maintained by the town) if you like to take a walk. When we went there, the restaurant was closed due to COVID-19, but will eventually reopen. The exterior pool was supposed to be heated, but the water was cold, maybe it wasn’t heated because of low attendance during the pandemic.

Lovely setting and great pool. Management was very helpful. Loved looking out from the very large porch. Great antique shops. Just wish they had a breakfast, but in these very short staffed days, I understand.

It was good only because the building is beautiful and a quick walk to restaurants. It was probably a much nicer stay before the pandemic.However.....1. No food at all. A pub but opens at 5pm and only serves drinks.2. Queen room very, very small. Sink in room and toilet and shower stall would not work well for overweight people. Very, very small.3. AC not at all adequate. Good thing they had overhead fans which made the heat bearable4. Internet/WIFI is not at all adequate. They have smart TV's but their internet did not allow us to connect to Netflix and as there is no cable so we couldn't watch tv.It was a quiet place, which was nice.Until they get the staff to get back to before pandemic amenities we would not recommend it which is too bad.We felt $160 including taxes was very expensive for the very limited amenities.

I stayed for 2 nights with my husband in October 2022, and we are looking for an opportunity to return in the near future. What a wonderful experience! When we walked in the front door of the Inn we walked back in time. The furnishings, the decor, the beautiful wood and the smell of history all combined to transport us back in time. Shelly acted as front desk clerk, barmaid and raconteur of historical happenings. She had an endless supply of information about the Inn - more than we could possibly absorb in one visit. If you are looking for a modern hotel, this might not be the place for you; the basic rooms are not spacious, there are no electronic keycards for the doors, and the front desk closes overnight; however, the important aspects of a guest's stay were updated in the 1980's: modern bathrooms, plenty of hot hot water with great pressure, and a flat screen television in each room. The bar is an experience in itself with its length of rich gleaming wood and polished fixtures. If you are lucky, Shelly will have the time to share more of her stories with you while you enjoy a drink. She might even take you on a tour... but I was not fortunate enough to see a ghost.

2nd visit to this hotel - very cozy old fashioned style decor in the double twin room that we requested. Proprietors are very accommodating and full of local knowledge. It is a century ++ building - so yes it's old- but well maintained and central to all things Knowlton - lots of parking - hardly need to use the car again once we parked since everthing is walking distance. Will definitely stay again on the annual drive through Eastern Townships.

Very poor management. Booked a week in advance and was assured by the owner, Van, that there would be no problems and gave me a confirmation number of my booking. Explicitly said that we wanted two rooms for Saturday. Arrived on Saturday and found that Van messed up and booked the wrong date. Take your chances with this one, or find another hotel.

Historic Inn in the charming Quebec town of Knowlton, QB. Rooms were very authentic Victorian, exactly what we were looking for. Walking distance from amazing walking trails, quaint, yet very bustling stores and restaurants of downtown Knowlton. Perfect for our three generation reunion!

Hotel was ok unfortunately, the construction in the street in front does hurt it. The evening we were there, there was a fundraiser with music which would have been nice to know considering that they have us a room right over the music. On the plus side, the 2 dining rooms are really nice.
