Andy possesses a high level of compassion and empathy for the people he is trying to help. This combination translates into him being able to establish a connection of trust with people who've been beaten down by addiction, and trust is a critical component of helping an addicted loved one and the family through a very difficult process.

Andy is known for being the guy you call when you're worried about doing an intervention with someone unpredictable. Not all interventionists are comfortable with things not going as planned and as everyone rehearsed. If you can picture someone flipping furniture or screaming or running away during your intervention, call Andy and get him to facilitate for you.

Andy went the extra mile for us at the last minute. That sounds like a cliche so you decide. We contacted him an hour before he needed to be at the hospital across town to intercept a discharging patient, drive him to his home to pack, drive him by car (client was terrified of flying) to Horseshoe Bay, then take the Langdale ferry, drive up a long hilly highway in lousy weather to a second ferry, take the 45 minute Earls Cove ferry, deliver this sick man to our staff in Powell River and then turn around and go all the way back to Burnaby. He helped out a desperate family, cared for a very large, very ill client and got him to us safe and calm. We are really grateful to him.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Andy for many years now, both on a personal level and professionally.
