Wicket Hall
The new Wicket Hall is a pretty big place and it has a very nice setting. My one complaint is that the lights on the dance floor are way too bright. When I come to dance, I don't want people witnessing my amateur dance skills. In addition, the music was way too quiet that I could literally have a full on conversation with the people beside me. Other than that, the DJ set list was very good and I would come back if 1) lights were dimmed and 2) music was louder.

Fun place but the bouncers are so aggressive. They kick people out for no reason, as if being drunk at the club is not allowed. I have heard from many friends that they have had similar experiences. I understand that people can get aggressive and inappropriate and there will always be reasons to kick people out but all of the experiences I have heard of have been unreasonable. Bouncers need better guidelines because this place isn’t cheap and it is such a waste of money to go and risk being kicked out for getting a couple of drinks.

First off this is a huge place with alot of different areas to hang out in and it's really beautiful! Staff and bouncers were all lovely and pleasant. I was hungry and they allowed me to bring food from the upstairs pub to the downstairs hall.The show was great but the audio was terrible, I unfortunately couldn't hear the singers singing as the instruments were too loud. I don't know if this is the venue or the bands sound system but I would recommend bringing ear plugs to save your ears. I'm leaving a 5 star review because I found it to be clean and inviting as well as it is a versatile place all connected together. If I were leaving a review for the show I would have left a 2 star for the disappointing audio.

As most others have said, the behavior of the bouncers is completely unacceptable. It's absolutely incredible what goes on in this establishment and, as is evident in comments, ownership refuses to take responsibility.I would recommend any other place in victoria over Strathcona.

The bar staff is super lovely as well as most of the bouncers. However some of the bouncers are very rude and disrespectful. They have an attitude and egos that are too big. It’s not that hard to be a nice person yet they struggle so much:(

Good sound and layout, but security is so overly aggressive I probably will not be back. Literally grabbing people, dragging them outside, and throwing them out, for dancing. Deplorable.

We had tickets to an event, which we had paid for, that were valid until 11. Get there before 10:40, line is not moving whatsoever because it’s “too full” until 11 where all of a sudden everyone is allowed in, now that we have to pay again to get in. Super shady.
