The staff & the vet were very compassionate and extremely thorough with their consult. The wait time isn't ideal but I think it can be attributed to the level of care and attention they give to their patients. We learned that our dog is nearing the end of life and they were very patient and took their time explaining to us on their potential diagnoses, next steps and risks associated with further care.We signed off on their estimate to perform blood work, x-ray, etc. However, the vet asked for our permission to remove the x-ray after he consulted with a radiologist that weren't onsite and told us that the x-ray was not going to be very useful in the diagnosis. It reassured us that they were going above and beyond to bring expert opinions in their patient care. The vet talked to us in very technical and medical term. That's something I notice with human physicians as well. Something to look out for because the conversation can get quite complex.

I just wanted to share our positive experience with the Vaughan Richmond Hill Emergency Vet. We brought our 1.5 year old Mini Golden Doodle, Winnie in with an intestinal blockage. Our family was completely devastated and worried, but the entire staff did their absolute best to keep us calm and informed as well as took the utmost best care of our fur baby. I had peace of mind knowing that they made her feel loved and safe the entire time she was there. You could see that with how they engaged and cared for all of the animals in their care. She was in the best possible hands ever with Dr Sal, Dr Richard’s and the amazing team at the Vaughan and Richmond Hill Emergency Vet. Leaving your animal at anytime is not easy, but when they are super sick and you aren’t sure how they will pull though, it is even harder. Dr sal and Dr Richards were so kind, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and professional. They kept my family informed every step of the way and never gave up on figuring out what was going on with our Winnie. Their perseverance, expertise and communication was like no other. It is because of them that our Winnie is back at home with us all happy and healthy. There is no words that can honestly express our level of gratitude to the entire team for that. Emotions are high during these stressful times and all we want is for our animals to be back at home with us and to know they are safe. Knowing there are emergency vets out there that have your pets best interest at heart and are mindful of the emotional and financial stress this is having on you and your family can give you some peace of mind that they are providing the best care for your animal and most fair pricing for you. I am beyond impressed with the entire team and our experience at Vaughan Richmond Hill Emergency Vet. We are forever grateful to you for all that you did to ensure our Winnie came back home to us.

We are very happy with the care our cat received at this clinic. The staff communicated very clearly and provided frequent updates about how our cat was doing. They were very honest and upfront about all of the costs and were happy to discuss all our concerns. We even received a photo update of our little guy which was a nice touch. You may have to wait while dropping off or picking up your pet which is understandable since they are dealing with many emergency situations. Thank you to all the staff for your excellent care!

I had a great experience with my cat Jack. He wasn’t eating and was vomiting and had diarrhea for days. My family vet did a bunch of tests but couldn’t find anything wrong with him. Finally I brought him here because he stopped eating and drinking, they did blood work and an ultrasound and found he was B12 deficient and may have IBD. After the B12 injection, he was back to normal in a day! The doctors are very thorough and spend time going over everything with you. I especially appreciated how often they called to give me updates and how accommodating they were!

I took my cat to VRHVEC last week due to an emergency. I was very skeptical at first as the other reviews did not leave a good impression. However, Dr Jenna Richards provided some of the most compassionate care we have ever received. She took the time to explain everything to us, all the possible options we can take and understood that the my cat's comfort was of the utmost importance to me.Dr Richards worked through the night and the next day to make sure my cat was stabilized and not in pain. Although his underlying issues are still to be resolved, I definitely feel that Dr Richards saved my cat's life that day.The receptionist Nicky was also very kind and helpful. Sometimes people have bad days, and I can completely understand the frustrations as a pet owner. I believe that the doctors and staff have tried to do their best to triage - and I hope that we can all show compassion to each other, especially during a stressful situation. Thank you.

My boyfriend and I was very fortunate to learn about this clinic. We arrived at the clinic for our cat. The staffs were all very compassionate and efficient. They eased the process for us by offering frequent updates and Dr. Naseem provided his compassionate but honest advice. Some news are hard to hear but this clinic offered everything they could to make our pain easier to bare. I really appreciate their support and help!

I came here on the night of april 23rd with my cat Clover because she was throwing up all of her food, and couldn't control her defecation/urination. I thought she just ate something bad, but it turned out she had a tumour in the spleen. It came completely unexpected because she was only 10 years old.The doctor on duty, Dr. Naseem, took us through his analysis thoroughly and explained every single reasoning why he thought Clover had what she had. We never felt rushed to be sent out so he could go to his next patient. Dr. Naseem was not only professional but compassionate and understanding. Once we were given the bad news, I took her back home so she could be with her family for one last day.I brought her back on the night of the 24th to Dr. Naseem to ease her pain and help her cross the rainbow bridge. It was sad losing my first cat but Dr. Naseem and his staff made everything so much easier. I feel lucky to have had Clover in my life, as well as to have found this clinic to help my girl in the end.If you're looking for an amazing veterinarian who is not only professional and compassionate, ask for Dr. Naseem. Thank you Dr. Naseem and his staff!

Our cat Baloney was admitted with a tail fracture. Dianne and Dr. Naseem were so compassionate and patient as we processed our grief and options. There is coffee and water on offer in the comfy wait room, and they even supply tampons in the washroom if needed. It's clear they care about the people as much as the animals! Easily the most positive emergency vet experience we've had. I wish they could be our regular vet team.

I wish I could give them more stars. They are compassionate, sympathetic and are understanding of the stresses between being able to afford rent or to help our loved ones.I brought my cat Tuesday here, She had ingested something and needed surgery as it was blocking her intestines. After having a traumatic experience at a downtown vet I decided to bring her here. They were lovely and explained the procedure, the risks and everything. I wanted to come visit her at midnight one night as i felt like it might be my last with her, and they were super welcoming. The next day I put my cat down as her kidney's were failing and she wasn't recovering from the surgery as expected. All the nurses and even the wonderful soft spoken receptionist came out to say good bye. We all cried. It was lovely because Tuesday lived a life where everyone loved her who met her. She died where everyone showed love to her as well, which she deserved. One week later I received a condolences card in the mail from the team. Highly recommend.Great work

I recently brought my senior dog here because of a respiratory issue he was having. The staff here were very friendly and professional. My reasoning for the 5 stars was there approach to me when giving me options on how they could treat my dog. The Dr explained the two options, obviously one was more than the other but after explaining my two options he made it VERY clear that whichever choice I made I want neglecting my dogs care in anyway. My dog was born with a neurological disability so he and I are no strangers to emergency visits or seeing specialists, and I've been to some clinics that have a more insensitive business approach that can make someone feel ashamed and or helpless. And the prices/cost at this clinic, in my opinion, are very reasonable. Again I've been to other clinics that charge WAY MORE.but I also think a lot of pet owners aren't really aware of the cost behind emergency care, which makes realize how we take our own health care for granted. The staff and doctor also followed up afterwards to see how my dog was doing.I'm summation, this is a great place to bring your pet in an emergency.
